Shreveport, La:  Darian Durant threw for 356 yards and 2 touchdowns to  lead the Shreveport Pirates to a 26-14 win over the winless Arizona Scorpions at Duck Commander Field Saturday night.

New York, NY:   LaRon Council ran for 124 yards and 3 touchdowns on 17 carries,  as the New York Phantoms ran away from the Virginia Tritons before  22,000 at Michie Stadium. New York improves to 2-1, while Virginia slips to 1-2.

Portland, OR :   KA'Deem Carey ran for  107 yards and a touchdown, plus caught  4 passes for  34 yards and a touchdown to lead the Sacramento Crusaders to a 17-10 win over the home standing Portland Dragons.  Announced attendance : 18,000

 Dallas, Tx:  Khiry Robinson ran for one touchdown and caught another as the Michigan Panthers  defeated the Dallas Wranglers 31-23 at the Cotton Bowl Friday night. Robinson finished with 76 yards rushing on 15 carries with one touchdown and 5 catches for 63 yards and a touchdown.  Michigan improves to 1-2, while Dallas drops to 1-1 on the season.  Announced attendance was  27,741.

Birmingham, Al:  Nate Kimic ran for 80 yards on 20 carries, scoring twice as the Barracuda offense keeps rolling along, defeating the Baltimore Bombers 40-19. Dejaun Morgan had two interceptions.  Att: 22,632

 Memphis, Tn:  James White ran in from one yard out with just under a minute to play, lifting the Memphis HoundDogs to their first win defeating the Los Angeles Pharoahs 24-19 before 31,000 at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis.

Salt Lake City, Ut:  Stephen Garcia threw for one touchdown and ran for another as the Utah Mammoths trampled the San Antonio Gunslingers 26-7 before 28,057 at Rice -Eccels stadium Saturday night

BULLS KNOCK OFF STARS!

 ( 2-0) Jacksonville - 27   (1-1) Philadelphia - 14

Philadelphia, Pa:  John Skeleton completed 20 of 28 passes for 304 yards and 2 touchdowns, with one interception as the Jacksonville Bulls defeated the Philadelphia Stars 27-14 Friday night at Franklin field.

Andre Williams rushed for 90 yards on 22 carries and one touchdown. Chase Coffman caught 8 passes for 88 yards in the win for the Bulls who improve to 2-0.

Stars quarterback Tajh Boyd completed 19 of 31 passes for 256 yards and a score with one interception.  Boyd also rushed for 66 yards on 11 carries.  Running back  Robbie Rouse  was held to 23 yards on 11 carries. Brandon Stokley caught 5 passes for 85 yards in the loss for the Stars who drop to 1-1.

 Orlando, Fla:  Andre Williams rushed for 145 yards on 26 carries and 1 touchdown,  as the Jacksonville Bulls defeated the Orlando Renegades 33-27 before 22,000 at the Florida Citrus Bowl Sunday afternoon.

Ryan Lindley completed 16 of 28 passes for 230 yards and 1 touchdown. Cole Beasley had 7 receptions for 128 yards.  Chase Coffman had 10 receptions for 92 yards and 1 touchdown  for the Bulls.

Orlando was led by Tyler Bray, who completed 11 of 26 passes for 236 yards and 3 touchdowns with 3 interceptions.  Lee Evans caught 5 passes for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kenjon Barner ran for 98 yards on 15 carries.

Omaha, Nb:  Adrian N. Peterson rumbled for a 78 yard touchdown run on his way to a 195 yard rushing total on 27 carries, to lead the Columbus Explorers to a 32-14 win over the Omaha Express at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.

Reggie Williams had 6 receptions for 105 yards and quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 182 yards while completing 14 of 27 passes .

Omaha's Drew Willy completed 17 of 28 passes for 168 yards and 1 touchdown with 3 interceptions. Latavious Murray was held to only 19 yards on 7 carries. Brandon Kaufman had 5 receptions for 70 yards for the Express.

 Norfolk, Va:  Dan LeFevour threw for 243 yards and 1 touchdown while completing  21 of 28 passes and ran for another touchdown to lead the Virginia Tritons to a 17-10 win over the Carolina Swarm before 18,116 at William Dick Price Stadium Sunday. Kapri Bibbs ran 21 times for 87 yards.  Danny Amendola had 8 catches for 119 yards.

Swarm quarterback Jimmy Clausen completed 14 of 25 passes for 133 yards and 2 interceptions. Jon Cornish ran 11 times for 65 yards and a score.  Chris Williams had 3 catches for 41 yards.

Sacramento, Ca:  Randy Moss hauled in 4 catches for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Sacramento Crusaders got by Las Vegas  30-23 at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento.

 Philadelphia :  Robbie Rouse rumbled for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns on 25 carries, plus a touchdown reception to lead the Philadelphia Stars to a 31-19 win over the Baltimore Bombers Saturday afternoon at Franklin field. 

Stars quarterback Tajh Boyd completed 11 of 18 passes for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns. Terrence Edwards caught 5 passes for 52 yards and a touchdown. 

Baltimore was led by quarterback Keith Wenning who completed 24 of 42 passes for 290 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception.  Rajon Neal ran 21 times for 100 yards and Nik Lewis had 6 receptions for 65 yards. Taylor Reed had a 16 yard block punt return for a touchdown in the loss for the Bombers. 

 (1-0) Birmingham -41    (0-1) Shreveport -21

Shreveport, La:  Josh Stewart caught 7 passes for 95 yards, plus an 80 yard punt return for a score as the Birmingham Barracudas crushed the Shreveport Pirates 41-21 at Duck Commander Field before just over 14,000 fans in Shreveport. 

 Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Greg McElroy threw for 321 yards and 2 touchdowns with one interception for Birmingham.  Travaris Cadet ran 7 times for 98 yards, including a 75 yard touchdown run. Nate Kimic had 72 yards on 16 carries and a score. 

Shreveport was led by quarterback Darian Durant who completed 22 of 34 passes for 251 yards and 1 touchdown.  Antonio Andrews ran for 67 yards and 2 scores before leaving the game with an injury. Running back Lamar Miller was also injured. Colby Hamilton caught 5 passes for 53 yards and Brandon Banks added 4 receptions for 80 yards in the loss. 

( 1-0) Dallas - 20     ( 0-1) Memphis -13

Dallas, Tx :   Tyler Varga ran for 73 yards and 1 touchdown on 19 carries, as the Dallas Wranglers topped the Memphis HoundDogs 20-13 at the Cotton Bowl. Several Dallas Cowboy players were among the 28,000 plus to attend. 

The win was costly for the Wranglers as starting quarterback Tim Tebow and second string quarterback Brett Smith both left the game with injuries, spoiling the much anticipated debut of the popular Tebow.  Clay Belton stepped in and performed admirably,  completing 14 of 27 passes for 142 yards with 1 interception. 

Quinton Sims had nine catches for 90 yards. Vic Hall recorded a 94 yard interception return for a touchdown in the win. 

Memphis was led by Javon Ringer, who rushed for 93 yards on 23 carries and 1 touchdown. Quarterback Ricky Ray completed 20 of 33 passes for 212 yards and 3 interceptions. Ty Hilton grabbed 6 passes for 87 yards. 

( 1-0) San Antonio - 20     ( 0-1) Denver - 6

 Denver, Col:  Antonio Bryant caught 7 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown to lead the San Antonio Gunslingers to a 20-6 win over the Denver Miners before 31,000 at Mile High. Mike Reilly completed 11 of 15 passes for  166 yards  and 1 touchdown. Lennon Creer ran for 79 yards on 17 carries. Nick Clancey had a 37 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the win for the Gunslingers.

Matthew McGloin came in relief of starter  Chase Clement who was injured, completing 14 of 26 passes for 153 yards. Nate Eachus ran 19 times for 63 yards and Travis Henry had 4 receptions for 42 yards  in the loss for Denver.

Detroit, Mi:  Reggie Dunn took a kick  90 yards for a touchdown to lift the Chicago Stags to a 33-27 over time win over the Michigan Panthers before 29,000 + at Ford Field Saturday night.

Jamarcus Russell made his first  football start since 2009. The former NFL number one  draft pick from Louisiana State played well,  completing 22 of 31 passes for 330 yards  and 2 touchdowns. Kendall Hunter ran 18 times for 91 yards. Dennis Pitta had six receptions for 123 yards and a score. Chad Johnson had 4 catches for 45 yards.

Michigan quarterback Kyle Padron completed  26 of 35 passes for  250 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Khiry Robinson ran for 88 yards on 19 carries. Jeremy Gallon had 8 receptions for 78 yards  and Andy Tanner contributed with  6 catches for 64 yards and  2 touchdowns in a losing effort.

HARTFORD, L. A. WIN IN LEAGUE OPENERS!

( 1-0) Hartford - 27    (0-1) New York -13

New York :   Miguel Maysonet ran for 77 yards and 1 touchdown on 19 carries as the Hartford Sentinels upended the New York Phantoms 27-13 in the first ever A.S.F.L  game before an announced crowd of 22,177 at Michie Stadium at West Point. 

Sentinel quarterback Colt Brennan completed 14 of 20 passes for 145 yards and 1 touchdown. Running back Charles Scott also added a score on the ground. Tight end Jo Don Duncan caught 6 passes for 61 yards and a score. 

New York was led by quarterback Case Keenum, who completed 23 of 37 passes for 265 yards and 1 interception. LaRon Council ran for 46 yards on 8 carries and 1 touchdown. SJ Green hauled in 6 passes for 98 yards in the loss. 

  ( 1-0) LOS ANGELES - 31   (0-1) UTAH - 14

Los Angeles :  Taylor Potts completed 18 of 28 passes for 189 yards and an interception , running backs James Rodgers and Joseph Randle each added a rushing touchdown as the Los Angeles Pharoahs rolled over the Utah Mammoths 31-14 before just over 19,000 at the L.A. Coliseum late Friday night. Cody Hoffman had 4 catches for 64 yards in the win, welcoming Spring Football back to the City of Angels. 

 For the Mammoths,  back up quarterback Stephen Garcia stepped in as starting quarterback Ryan Alpine left the game early with an injury.  Garcia completed  19 of 36 passes for 231 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. Ryan Torian had 81 yards rushing on 17 carries and Marion Grice had 7 catches for 56 yards in the loss for the Mammoths.

ASFL KICKS OFF INAUGURAL SEASON!

  New York :  After settling some stadium contract issues that had many doubting a 2015 Kick-off.  The New York Phantoms and Hartford Sentinels kicked off a short time ago at Michie Stadium in New York  to officially begin the 2015 season.

The game will be the first of a doubleheader. The second game will pit the Utah Mammoths visiting the Los Angeles Pharoahs at the Coliseum in L.A. later tonight.
