AFFA Saturday Results! 3-3-18
Miami Sharks ( 2-0 )- 30 New York Empire ( 0-2 )- 7
Miami, Florida: David Cobb ran for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns on 25 carries as the Miami Sharks thumped the New York Empire 30-7 before a capacity crowd at FIU Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Zach Collaros completed 15 of 18 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown. Jeff Heuerman had 5 receptions for 90 yards and a score. Jonathan Grey ran for 25 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. JC Sherritt led the defense with 8 tackles and a stuff. AJ Klein had 6 tackles, 2 sacks, a stuff and a forced fumble.
Johnny Manziel threw for 110 yards while completing 11 of 19 passes for New York. He was sacked 6 times and fumbled twice. He also ran for a score. Lamar Miller ran 10 times for 47 yards. Geronimo Allen caught 5 passes for 51 yards. Josh Forrest led the Empire defense with 9 tackles and a stuff in the loss.
Louisville Thoroughbreds ( 1-1 )- 27 Carolina Breakers ( 1-1 )- 25
Raleigh, N.C: Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 283 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Louisville Thoroughbreds past the Carolina Breakers 27-25 before 19,311 at Carter Finley Stadium Sunday Saturday afternoon.
Zach Stacy ran 20 times for 80 yards and a score. Ray Rice ran 9 times for 67 yards before leaving the game with an injury. Ryan Spadola had 6 catches for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Josh Stewart caught 7 passes for 83 yards in the win. Cameron Law led the defense with 7 tackles, 1 pass deflection, 2 stuffs, 1 hurry and a forced fumble. Dexter McDonald had an interception.
Shane Carden led Carolina, completing 16 of 24 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown with one interception. Jacqiuzz Rodgers and Joique Bell each ran for a score in the loss for the Breakers. Zach Zenner had a touchdown reception.
Pittsburgh Ironmen ( 2-0 )- 29 Hartford Sentinels ( 1-1 )- 10
Storrs, Ct: Alex Carder completed 19 of 27 passes for 227 yards as the Pittsburgh Ironmen moved to 2-0 on the year, with a 29-10 victory over the Hartford Sentinels.
Tyler Gaffney ran for one touchdown, while rushing for 83 yards on 19 carries. Jeremy Langford ran 13 times for 54 yards and a score. Eric Rogers caught 8 passes for 116 yards. Swayze Waters went 5 for 5 on field goals, with a long of 54 yards in the win for the Ironmen.
Connor Halliday led the Sentinels, throwing for 118 yards and a touchdown. He completed 9 of 18 passes in the loss.
St.Louis Scouts ( 1-1 )- 31 Omaha Bulls ( 1-1 )- 24
St.Louis, Missouri: Robert Griffin III hit Roddy White on a 48 yard touchdown pass as time expired, to lift the St.Louis Scouts to their franchise 1st win, 31-24 over the Omaha Bulls Saturday.
RG3 completed 14 of 21 passes for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns with one interception. Robbie Rouse ran 22 times for 115 yards. Zack Laskey ran 15 times for 113 yards and a score. Roddy White had 6 catches for 111 yards and a touchdown. Kenbrell Tompkins had 5 receptions for 64 yards and a score in the win for the Scouts.
Omaha was led by quarterback Rakeem Cato who completed 12 of 22 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown. Trent Richardson ran for 31 yards and 2 touchdowns. Benny Fowler had 4 catches for 129 yards. Mike Thomas had a touchdown catch in the loss.
Oklahoma Roughnecks ( 2-0 )- 44 San Antonio Mustangs ( 1-1 )- 14
Norman, Oklahoma: Cyrus Gray ran for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns plus had a touchdown reception as the Oklahoma Roughnecks pounded the San Antonio Mustangs 44-14 Saturday evening in Norman.
Dennis Johnson ran 10 times for 112 yards and a score. Thomas Rawls ran for a score while rushing for 60 yards on 5 carries. Quarterback Matt Johnson completed 19 of 24 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked twice. Jordan Lynch came in late,completing 1 pass for 20 yards and a score. Chandler Jones had a touchdown reception, catching 6 passes for 60 yards. Josh Harper had 5 receptions for 78 yards .Chris Moore also had a touchdown reception in the win.
Kenneth Farrow ran 8 times for 107 yards and a score to lead the Mustangs. Marshaun Coprich ran 15 times for 82 yards and a score in the loss.
Sacramento Crusaders ( 1-1)- 21 Albuquerque Aztecs ( 0-2 )- 20
Sacramento, California: Trevone Boykin threw for one touchdown and ran for another as the Sacramento Crusaders nipped the Albuquerque Aztecs 21-20 Saturday night at Hughes Stadium in Sacramento.
Boykin finished completing 11 of 17 passes for 168 yards. He also ran for 41 yards on 15 carries. Stevan Ridley ran 23 times for 100 yards and a touchdown. Marquez North had a touchdown reception in the win. Houston Battle led the defense with 9 tackles, 1 stuff, 1 hurry and a forced fumble.
Travis Lulay led the Aztecs completing 19 of 23 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. Tommy Shuler caught 6 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Stefon Diggs recorded a 47 yard punt return for a touchdown in the loss.
Orlando Vipers ( 1-1 )- 20 Utah Mammoths ( 0-2 )- 14
Salt Lake City, Utah: Isaiah Burse caught 5 passes for 96 yards, including a 64 yard touchdown reception as the Orlando Vipers sent the defending Western Conference champs their second loss of the season with a 20- 14 victory over the Utah Mammoths.
RJ Archer threw for 184 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked 4 times. Alex Collins had his best game as a pro, rushing for 157 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. Quinton Dempsey led the defense with 6 tackles.
Dak Prescott led the Mammoths, completing 18 of 29 passes for 135 yards and a score. Cierre Wood ran for 50 yards and a score on 11 carries. Madison Magnum had a touchdown reception in the loss.
