Sunday's A.S.F.L. Results

Birmingham, Al:  Ka'Deem Carey  scored 2 touchdowns while rushing for 79 yards on 19 carries as the Sacramento Crusaders defeat the Birmingham Barracudas 24-10, knocking the Cuddas from the unbeaten ranks before a stunned crowd of 28,000 at Legion Field.

Jordan Lynch completed 25 of 42 passes for 228 yards and no touchdowns. TJ Houshmandzadeh had 5 catches for 45 yards, while Carey added 5 catches for 52 yards to his nights performance for the Crusaders.

 Quarterback Logan Thomas completed 13 of 41 passes for 136 yards and 4 interceptions. He also ran 10 times for 42 yards to lead Birmingham. Chris Obonnaya had 3 catches for 25 yards and Jeff Maehl added 2 receptions for 24 yards. Birmingham falls to 5-1 on the year.

Orlando, Fla:  Darron Thomas completed 10 of 14 passes for 297 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions to guide the Orlando Renegades ( 5-1 ) past the New York Phantoms ( 4-2 ) 28-20 at the Florida Citrus Bowl Sunday afternoon.

 Kellen Winslow hauled in 6 catches for 107 yards and one touchdown. Jared Abbrederis added 3 catches for 118 yards, including a 79 yard touchdown reception.

New York quarterback Case Keenum completed 25 of 32 passes for 250 yards and one touchdown with 2 interceptions. LaRon Council ran 12 times for 57 yards. Josh Hill hauled in 9 catches for 106 yards in the loss for New York.

Pittsburgh, Pa:  Mark Mariani returned a punt 69 yards for a touchdown as the Pittsburgh Maulers ( 3-3 ) topped the Los Angeles Pharoahs 20-17 at Hienz Field before 22,194.

Seth Doege completed 20 of 30 passes for 153 yards and 1 interception. Rex Burkhead ran for a touchdown while rushing for 72 yards on 16 carries. Josh Boyce had 6 receptions for 44 yards for the Maulers.

James Vandenberg threw for 206 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception to lead Los Angeles. Joseph Randle ran 19 times for 77 yards and a score. Cody Hoffman had 8 catches for 75 yards in the loss for Los Angeles.

Philadelphia, Pa:   Scooter Berry picked up a fumble and returned it 16 yards for a touchdown, to lift the Michigan Panthers to a 16-10 overtime victory over the Philadelphia Stars at Franklin Field.

Kyle Padron threw for 224 yards while completing 21 of 30 passes to lead the Panthers ( 2-4 ). Khiry Robinson rumbled for 129 yards on 19 carries and Kyle Miller caught 7 passes for 104 yards in the win.

 Philadelphia quarterback Tajh Boyd completed 9 of 14 passes for only 79 yards and ran 10 times for 42 yards. Robbie Rouse was held to 21 yards on 9 carries and caught 4 passes for 34 yards as the Stars offense was held to only 166 total yards.

Omaha, Nb:  Brian Brohm completed 16 of 26 passes for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception to lead the Portland Dragons past the Omaha Express 27-16 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.

 Chris Polk ran 13 times for 70 yards and Mike Davis had 6 catches for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.

Omaha was led by quarterback Drew Willy who completed 19 of 32 passes for 277 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. Latavius Murray had 81 yards on 15 carries to lead all rushers. Roy Roundtree caught 9 passes for 137 yards and a score in the loss for the Express.

( 4-2 ) Carolina- 26    ( 2-4 ) Las Vegas- 21

 Las Vegas, Nv:   Jimmy Clausen completed 21 of 27 passes for 259 yards and 1 touchdown, with 1 interception as the Carolina Swarm ( 4-2 ) topped the Las Vegas Invaders 26-21.

Tyler Gafney had 19 carries for 75 yards and 1 score. Devin Street caught 7 passes for 113 yards and a score for the Swarm.

 Colby Cameron completed 17 of 21 passes for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead Las Vegas. Daniel Porter rushed for 38 yards on 9 carries. Vai Taua was held to only 35 yards on 12 carries. Chris Getzlaf had 5 receptions for 63 yards and Fred Stamps pulled in 5 catches for 55 yards and a touchdown in the loss for Las Vegas.
