WEEK NINETEEN: SUNDAY RESULTS


(10-6-1) Shreveport-34    (9-8) Birmingham-13

Birmingham, Al:  Brandon Banks had 9 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown as the Shreveport Pirates rolled to a 34-13 victory over the Birmingham Barracudas. The win clinched the Mid-South division title for the Pirates as they move to 10-6-1 on the season.

Pirate quarterback Darian Durant completed 24 of 37 passes for 280 yards and 3 touchdowns, while being sacked twice. Antonio Andrews ran 18 times for 61 yards and 1 touchdown , plus a touchdown reception. Colbi Hamilton had 5 catches for 37 yards and a score. Brett Maher connected on 4 of 4 field goal attempts in the win.

Birmingham was led by quarterback Greg McElroy who completed 18 of 26 passes for 234 yards and was sacked twice. Nate Kimic  ran for 46 yards on 10 carries. Travaris Cadet ran for a score while rushing 12 yards on 7 carries. Cadet also had 5 catches for 59 yards. Mike Sims had 5 receptions for 67 yards in the loss for Birmingham who saw their playoff hopes crumble .
