WEEK SEVENTEEN: SATURDAY RESULTS
(5-10) Pittsburgh- 38 (10-6) Columbus- 35
Columbus, Oh: Luther Ambrose recorded a 92 yard 4th quarter kick return for a touchdown as the Pittsburgh Maulers defeated the Columbus Explorers 38-35 at Ohio stadium Saturday.
Ambrose finished with 153 return yards on 3 attempts. Seth Doege completed 26 of 38 passes for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns with 3 interceptions and 2 sacks. Danny Woodhead ran 17 times for 96 yards and a touchdown, plus 9 receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. Joseph Fauria caught 6 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Cyrus Gray had a touchdown run while rushing for 43 yards on 8 carries.
Bo Levi Mitchell completed 19 of 30 passes for 194 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 interception and a sack. Roderick McDowell ran for 1 touchdown. Reggie Williams caught 4 passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. Mike Harris had a 31 yard interception return for a touchdown in the loss for Columbus. Harris had 2 interceptions in the game.
(9-6-1) Jacksonville- 33 (8-8) Chicago- 30
Jacksonville, Fla: Beanie Wells ran for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns on 20 carries to lead the Jacksonville Bulls to a 33-30 victory over the Chicago Stags.
Ryan Lindley threw for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cole Beasley had 5 receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown. Doug Baldwin also had a touchdown reception in the win for Jacksonville.
JaMarcus Russell completed 14 of 21 passes for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 sack before giving way to Troy Smith due to injury. Smith completed 12 of 23 passes for 110 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception and 1 sack.
Stephon Jefferson ran 17 times for 79 yards and a score. Aaron Mallette had 10 receptions for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Chad Johnson had a touchdown reception as the Stags fall to 8-8 on the season. Jacksonville improves to 9-6-1.
(9-6-1) Shreveport- 31 (8-8) Virginia- 27
Norfolk, Va: Darian Durant threw for 405 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Shreveport Pirates past the Virginia Tritons 31-27 at William D. Price stadium Saturday.
Durant finished completing 28 of 35 passes. Cobi Hamilton had 8 receptions for 195 yards and 4 touchdowns (81, 14, 1 and 35). Antonio Andrews ran for 61 yards on 16 carries. Brandon Banks returned from injury, with 5 receptions for 82 yards as the Pirates improve to 9-6-1.
Dan LeFevour led Virginia, throwing for 173 yards and 1 touchdown , with 1 interception and sacked once. Kapri Bibbs had 20 carries for 96 yards and a score. Tysson Poots caught 5 passes for 35 yards and a touchdown as the Tritons fall to 8-8 on the season.
(9-6) Houston- 16 (8-8) Orlando- 13
Orlando, Fla: Swayze Waters booted a 33 yard game winning field goal with just under a minute to play to lift the Houston Gamblers to a 16-13 victory over the Orlando Renegades Saturday night.
Graham Harrell completed 19 of 33 passes for 157 yards and 1 touchdown as the Gamblers win their third straight and fourth out of their last five games. Marquess Wilson caught 7 passes for 65 yards and a touchdown. Kevin Smith ran 16 times for 50 yards in the win. Waters connected on 3 of 4 field goals and Jasper Brinkley recorded 12 tackles, 1 sack, 1 stuff and 1 deflection for the defense.
Darron Thomas completed 21 of 31 passes for 298 yards and 1 touchdown, with 2 interceptions and sacked twice. Lee Evans caught 5 passes for 118 yards and a score for the Renegades.

(5-11) Utah- 38 (7-9) Los Angeles- 13
Salt Lake City, Ut: Ryan Alpine threw for 250 yards and 1 touchdown, while completing 20 of 30 passes and sacked once as the Utah Mammoths trampled the Los Angeles Pharaohs 38-13 at Rice-Eccles stadium before 39,432 in attendance.
Marion Grice ran 19 times for 74 yards and 3 touchdowns. Dan Buckner had 8 receptions for 116 yards and Dewayne Harris had a touchdown reception. Kurt Coleman recorded a 38 yard interception return for a touchdown in the win as the Mammoths move to 5-11 on the season.
Taylor Potts completed 25 of 45 passes for 1 touchdown, with 3 interceptions. He was sacked twice. Jay Prosch had a touchdown catch as the Pharaohs saw their playoff hopes evaporate.
