Detroit, MI; Paul Perkins ran for 114 yards and 4 touchdowns on 14 carries to power the Michigan Panthers (2-0) to a wild 56-42 victory over the Chicago Stags before 33,000 at Ford Field Sunday afternoon.
Cody Kessler completed 17 of 27 passes for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns. Darrin Pete had 8 catches for 101 yards and a score. Albert Wilson recorded 312 kick return yards, plus a touchdown reception.
Chicago quarterback Brandon Doughty completed 36 of 54 passes for 403 yards and 2 touchdowns. He had 1 interception and was sacked 3 times. Alonzo Harris ran 19 times for 107 yards and 3 touchdowns. Marcus Davis had a 64 yard touchdown run. Willie Snead caught 12 passes for 106 yards and a score. Gator Hoskins contributed with 6 catches for 107 yards and a score in the loss for the Stags (1-1).
