Chicago, Illinois; Brandon Doughty completed 21 of 26 passes for 394 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Chicago Stags ( 3-2 ) defeated the New Orleans Nightmare 46-30 before 28,000 + at Soldier Field Friday night.
The Stags ground game as well as their air attack was firing on all cylinders, as the Stags rolled up 255 yards rushing. Marcus Murphy rolled to 143 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 carries. Alonzo Harris powered to 105 yards and 2 touchdowns .
Willie Snead had a career game catching 9 passes for 196 yards, including a 79 yard touchdown reception. Gator Hoskins also had a touchdown reception in the win.
Colby Cameron led the Nightmare attack completing 28 of 40 passes for 351 yards and 4 touchdowns with one interception and sacked twice. Cody Hoffman, Ty Hilton, Brandon Rutledge and Mortiz Boehringer each had a touchdown reception in the loss as the Nightmare fall to 3-2.
" We played well tonight. Brandon ( Doughty) commanded the game well and made some good throws. Our offensive line did a great job controlling the line of scrimmage and opening holes for Marcus and Alonzo. Marcus ( Murphy ) has really stepped up in filling in for Alfred ( Morris). He works hard and it shows in his play the last couple of weeks. " said Stags head coach Ted Cottrell following the game.
