WEEK 5 SATURDAY ROUNDUP!
( 2-3 ) Orlando - 34 ( 3-2 ) New York - 6
Orlando, Fla; Tim Tebow threw for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Orlando Vipers crush the New York Emporers 34-6 Saturday afternoon at Brighthouse Networks Stadium. Tebow was sacked once with no interceptions. He also ran for 31 yards on 12 carries.
Former University of Arkansas running back Alex Collins ran for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns. Isaiah Burse caught 4 passes for 80 yards and a score. Ryan Otten also had a touchdown reception in the win as the Vipers improved to 2-3 with the win.
Johnny Manziel threw for 212 yards with 2 interceptions and sacked twice. He also ran 12 times for 33 yards as the Emporers fall to 3-2.
(3-2 ) Michigan - 45 ( 2-3 ) Houston - 21
Detroit, Mi; Cody Kessler continues to shine and is quickly becoming one of the brightest stars in the A.F.F.A. Kessler completed 16 of 17 passes for 348 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Michigan Panthers rolled over the Houston Wranglers 45-21 before 31,000 at Ford Field Saturday.
Malcolm Agnes ran 12 times for 73 yards and a score. Albert Wilson had 4 catches for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns. Pharoh Cooper had 3 catches for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joseph Fauria chipped in with 67 yards and a score on 4 catches for the Panthers ( 3-2 ).
Wranglers quarterback Vince Young completed 11 of 20 passes for 106 yards and a score. He was sacked twice. Young also ran 6 times for 33 yards. Kapri Bibbs ran 9 times for 32 yards and a score. Jean Sifrin had 4 receptions for 51 yards and a score. Jamison Crowder also added a touchdown reception as the Wranglers drop to 2-3 on the year. Brandon Allen came in late completing 6 of 12 passes for 61 yards and a touchdown and sacked once.
( 3-2 ) Birmingham - 30 ( 3-2 ) Miami - 16
Miami, Fla; Trevor Harris threw for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns while completing 12 of 17 passes as the Birmingham Predators defeated the Miami Sharks 30-16 before 27,300 at FIU stadium Saturday.
Rasheed Williams ran for 82 yards and a score on 21 carries. Casey Pierce caught 5 passes for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns including a 68 yard touchdown reception. Paul McRoberts had 4 catches for 58 yards and a score in the win.
Zach Collaros completed 21 of 40 passes for 358 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception and sacked twice for the Sharks who lost their second straight game to fall to 3-2. Running back David Cobb ran for 54 yards on 19 carries. Nick Toon caught 8 passes for 106 yards. Jeff Heuerman had 5 catches for 85 yards and a score in the loss.
( 3-2 ) Denver - 32 ( 2-3 ) Omaha - 12
Omaha, Neb; Anthony Allen ran for two scores as the Denver Miners ( 3-2 ) pounded the home standing Omaha Bulls 32-12 before 26,000+ at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium Saturday.
Vad Lee completed 18 of 33 passes for 228 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception and sacked once. Anthony Allen finished rushing for 65 yards on 22 carries. Kasen Williams had a touchdown reception.
Rakeem Cato threw for 168 yards on 15 of 28 passes and was sacked 5 times. Alfred Blue ran for 44 yards and a score on 11 carries as the Bulls fall to 2-3.
