AFFA SUNDAY RESULTS (5-6-18)
(3-8) Philadelphia Americans - 28 (4-7) New York Empire - 16
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: John Crockett ran for 115 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries to lead the Philadelphia Americans to a 28-16 victory over the New York Empire at Franklin Field Sunday.
Alex Tanney completed 16 of 18 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown . He was intercepted once and sacked twice . Brandon Whitaker ran for 2 scores while rushing for 65 yards on 12 carries . Fred Stamps had 3 receptions for 62 yards and a score. Danny Trevathan led the defense with 12 tackles , 1 sack and a stuff.
Johnny Manziel completed 13 of 21 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown to lead New York. Lamar Miller ran 12 times for 47 yards . Aaron Burbridge had 5 receptions for 52 yards and a score . JaCorey Shepard had a 29 yard interception return for a touchdown .
(5-6) Virginia Tritons - 34 (3-8) Hartford Sentinels - 24
Norfolk , Virginia: Mike Bercovici completed 18 of 33 passes for for 242 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Virginia Tritons defeated the Hartford Sentinels 34-24 Sunday. He was sacked three times and intercepted once .
Kenneth Dixon ran for a touchdown while rushing for 23 yards on 5 carries. Donatella Luckett caught 6 passes for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns . Chris Hairston had a touchdown reception ,catching 3 passes for 51 yards . Demeco Ryan led the Tritons defense with 14 tackles and 1 sack.
Connor Halliday threw for 424 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead Hartford . He was sacked once and intercepted once . Devontae Freeman ran for 35 yards on 18 carries, plus caught 15 passes for 146 yards. Jordan Payton caught 7 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown. Antwan Goodley had 6 catches for 108 yards and a score . Jamal Robinson had 3 receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown.
(8-3) Pittsburgh Ironmen - 31 (3-8) Orlando Vipers - 16
Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania: Alex Carder completed 23 of 38 passes for 348 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Ironmen strengthen their hold on the Atlantic Division with a 31-16 victory over the Orlando Vipers at Heinz Field.
Tyler Gaffney ran 11 times for 41 yards and a score. Alec Lemon caught 7 passes for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns .Clarence Denmark had a touchdown reception, catching 2 passes for 21 yards . Simoni Lawrence recorded 8 tackles , a stuff and a forced fumble.
John Beck got the start for Orlando, completing 11 of 19 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown. RJ Archer came in in the second half, completing 8 of 19 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Jahad Thomas had 19 carries for 59 yards . Cam Worthy caught 6 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown . Corey Washington caught 4 passes for 70 yards and a score. Josh Thomas had 8 tackles and a pass deflection to lead the Vipers defense.
(6-5) Columbus Aviators - 41 (8-3) St.Louis Scouts - 27
St.Louis, Missouri: Mycole Pruitt caught 9 passes for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Columbus Aviators won their fourth consecutive game, defeating the St.Louis Scouts 41 -27 in a key Great Lakes Division match up.
Chuckie Keeton completed 15 of 22 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, plus ran for a score . Eric Brietenstein ran 14 times for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns .Jayrone Ellis led the defense with 8 tackles, 1 sack and a pass deflection.
Robert Griffin III threw for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns while completing 27 of 38 passes to lead St.Louis.
Robbie Rouse ran 8 times for 63 yards. Zack Laskey ran for 62 yards on 14 carries. Nick Toon caught 7 passes for 78 yards and 3 touchdowns. Kenbrell Tompkins caught 9 passes for 81 yards . Taylor Loffler led the defense with 10 tackles .
(6-5) Arkansas Rhinos - 30 (4-7) Carolina Breakers - 13
Raleigh , North Carolina : Jordan Canzeri ran 20 times for 56 yards and 3 touchdowns, plus caught 4 passes for 93 yards , as the Arkansas Rhinos pounded the Carolina Breakers 30 -13 at Carter Finley Stadium Sunday evening.
Colby Cameron completed 15 of 22 passes for 270 yards with one interception. Justin Manton connected on 3 of 3 field goal attempts. Daniel Sorensen had 5 tackles , 1 sack, 2 pass defended and a hurry to lead the defense .
Shane Carden led the Breakers throwing for 217 yards and a touchdown, while also running for a touchdown on 8 carries for 20 yards. Andre Caldwell had a touchdown reception ,catching 2 passes for 27 yards in the loss for the Breakers .
(7-4) Albuquerque Aztecs - 33 (6-5) Oklahoma Roughnecks - 31
Norman, Oklahoma: Travis Lulay completed 21 of 39 passes for 267 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Albuquerque Aztecs defeated the Oklahoma Roughnecks 33-31 before a near capacity crowd at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium Sunday night.
Tim Cornett ran 18 times for 73 yards and 3 touchdowns. Ray Graham ran 12 times for 115 yards, plus a touchdown reception . Alex Erickson had 2 catches for 34 yards. Tommy Shuler caught 6 passes for 97 yards .Richie Leon made 2 of 3 field goal attempts. Avery Williams and John Burris each had 8 tackles to lead the defense.
Matt Johnson led Oklahoma throwing for 320 yards and a touchdown . He was sacked once and intercepted once.
Thomas Rawls rushed for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns. Dennis Johnson had 6 carries for 31 yards and a score. Josh Harper had 12 catches for 143 yards . Chris Moore caught 3 passes for 118 yards including a 69 yard touchdown reception .
With the win Albuquerque has now swept both Houston and Oklahoma. They now control their own destiny in the Frontier Division race.

(4-7) Omaha Bulls - 28 (7-4) Portland Pioneers - 23
Portland, Oregon: Rakeem Cato completed 21 of 28 passes for 281 yards and a touchdown as the Omaha Bulls upset the Portland Pioneers 28-23 before a sold out crowd at Providence Park in Portland Sunday night.
