Week Two: A.A.F.A Saturday Results


  Hartford Sentinels ( 1-1 )- 34   Philadelphia Freedom ( 0-2 )- 28

Storrs, Ct:  Mike White threw for 2 touchdowns and ran for another as the Hartford Sentinels gave head coach Jerry Glanville his first AFFA win with a 34-28 decision over the Philadelphia Freedom Saturday afternoon at Rentschler Stadium in Storrs.

White completed 21 of 25 passes for 341 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 sacks. He also ran 7 times for 16 yards and a score.

Devonta Freeman ran 18 times for 79 yards and a touchdown. Antwan Goodley had 7 receptions for 134 yards. Jamal Robinson had 2 touchdown receptions, catching 6 passes for 91 yards in the win.  Boris BeBe converted on 2 of 2 field goal attempts with a long of 28 yards. Alfonso Dennard led the defense with seven tackles.

Freedom quarterback Drew Willy completed 17 of 25 passing for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns and sacked 3 times. Kory Sheets rushed for 54 yards and a score on 12 carries. Duke Williams caught 6 passes for 116 yards and 2 scores. Ty Hilton had a 72 yard punt return for a touchdown in the loss.

John Simon recorded 9 tackles and a sack to lead the defense. Danny Trevathan and Bacarri Rambo each had 7 tackles.

St. Louis, Missouri:  Montee Ball ran for 2 touchdowns as the Michigan Panthers tripped up the St. Louis Scouts 23-10 at the Dome at Americas Center Saturday afternoon . Ball finished with 51 yards on 13 carries.

Cody Kessler completed 15 of 26 passing for 189 yards and a touchdown, with an interception and 2 sacks. Paul Perkins ran 14 times for 81 yards. Darrin Pete had 5 catches for 67 yards.  Joseph Fauria had a touchdown reception, catching 4 passes for 32 yards. Jadar Johnson and Marcell Harris powered the defense with 7 tackles each. Johnson had a sack.

Robert Griffin III completed 17 of 23 passing for 151 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 19 yards on 11 carries. He was sacked six times. Andy Jones had 8 receptions for 71 yards. Nick Toon caught 3 passes for 44 yards and a score. Max Valles led the defense with 7 tackles, 1 stuff and a hurry.

Louisville, Kentucky:  Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 of 27 passing, as the Louisville Thoroughbreds knocked off the Miami Sharks 26-13 before 27,510 at PaPa John's Cardinal Stadium Saturday.

Ray Rice rushed for 133 yards and a score on 22 carries.  Paul Turner caught 5 passes for 115 yards and a score. Cameron Meridith had a touchdown reception, catching 2 passes for 39 yards. Griffin Oakes converted on 2 of 2 field goal attempts. Tyler Glasper recorded 9 tackles and 4 stuffs for the defense.

Zach Collaros completed 15 or 25 passes for 174 yards. Brad Kaaya completed 8 of 14 passes 115 yards with one sack for the Sharks. Kaaya also fumbled twice.

David Cobb ran for 46 yards and a touchdown on 8 carries. Tajae Sharp caught 6 passes for 112 yards. Shamar Stephen led the defense with 8 tackles and 4 stuffs. Zach Vigil recorded 7 tackles, a pass deflection and 2 stuffs as the Sharks fall to 0-2.

Salt Lake City, Utah:  Jeff Driskel completed 14 of 26 passes for 193 yards as the Los Angeles Pharoahs defeated the Utah Mammoths 13-10 in a Pacific Division matchup Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.

Jay Ajayi rushed for 105 yards on 24 carries. Dennis Johnson ran for a score while rushing for 29 yards on 7 carries. Jo Don Baker had 3 catches for 69 yards and Jordan Lasley had 4 catches for 56 yards. Caleb Sturgis converted on 2 of 2 field goals with a long of 47. Solomon Elimimian led the defense with 10 tackles and a stuff as the Pharoahs move to
2-0.

Utah quarterback Chris Streveler completed 20 of 33 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked twice.  He also ran for 107 yards on 16 carries.  Dezmin Lewis had a touchdown reception while catching 4 passes for 66 yards.  Devontae Booker caught 7 passes for 23 yards and rushed for 37 yards on 8 carries. Jasper Simmons had 9 tackles and a stuff to lead the defense.

Albuquerque, New Mexico:  Travis Lulay threw for 225 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Albuquerque Aztecs move to 2-0 with a 34-27 victory over the Arkansas Diamond Miners at Dreamstyle Stadium in Albuquerque Saturday night.

Lulay completed 20 of 26 passes and was sacked twice.  Tim Cornett rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. Tommy Shuler caught 8 passes for 98 yards and a score. Rashad Green had 5 receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown. Brian Parker had a touchdown reception, catching 5 passes for 67 yards. Richie Leon converted on 2 of 3 field goal attempts with a long of 51 yards.

Geno Hayes recorded 9 tackles and a stuff. Destiny Vaeao had 8 tackles, 2 sacks, a hurry and 2 forced fumbles.

Arkansas was led by quarterback Colby Cameron who completed 19 of 35 passes for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was sacked twice. He also ran 12 times for 53 yards. Cody Hoffman caught 8 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Rannell Hall had a touchdown reception, catching 7 passes for 91 yards. Brandon Rutley ran for a touchdown, rushing for 55 yards on 16 carries. Justin Manton converted on 2 of 2 field goals with a long of 41.

Keon Raymond recorded 9 tackles and Jason Hickman had 6 tackles, 1 sack, 2 stuffs and a hurry to lead the defense. Arkansas falls to 0-2.
