New York, New York: Tye Smith recorded 2 interceptions and John Manziel tossed a 18 yard touchdown pass to Dan Arnold with just under five minutes to play, as the New York Red Raiders staked their claim to the Empire Conference Atlantic Division title with a 16-7 victory over the Columbus Explorers Friday night at Michie Stadium in New York.
Matt McGloin completed 16 of 20 passes for 162 yards and a interception. John Manziel came in late and completed 2 of 3 passes for 26 yards and a touchdown.
James Williams rushed for 97 yards on 23 carries. Dan Arnold had 2 receptions for 22 yards and a score, Clay Harbor had 6 receptions for 39 yards and Damian Williams caught 4 passes for 51 yards
Tye Smith had 3 tackles to go along with his 2 interceptions, Thurston Armbrister had a sack and 4 tackles and Aldon Smith recorded a interception and 3 tackles for the Red Raiders.
AJ McCarron had a rough day, completing only 9 of 26 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked 6 times and intercepted once.
Jeremy Hill ran 12 times for 74 yards. Greg Ellingson had a touchdown reception, catching 2 passes for 74 yards and Adarius Bowman caught 4 passes for 56 yards.
Deatrich Wise Jr had 2 sacks and 9 tackles, Taron Johnson had a interception, a forced fumble and 4 tackles and Ben Gedeon recorded 10 tackles for Columbus.
