Washington, D.C; Mike Bercovici completed 17 of 30 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns as the Washington Wave won their fifth straight with a 38-24 victory over the Houston Wranglers before 26,170 at RFK Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Kenneth Dixon ran for 52 yards on 12 carries, plus a touchdown reception. Chris Hairston ran 6 times for 51 yards and a score. Donatella Luckett had 5 receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns for the Wave in the win.
Vince Young threw for 133 yards and 1 touchdown with one interception and sacked three times. Kapri Bibbs ran 22 times for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Jean Sifrin had a touchdown reception in the loss for the Wranglers .
Devon Kennard recorded 10 tackles, 1 sack and 2 stuffs to lead the Wave defense.
( 3-5 ) Omaha Bulls - 20 ( 1-7 ) Philadelphia - 6
Omaha ,Nebraska; Bralon Addison returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown as the Omaha Bulls defeated the Philadelphia Bulldogs 20-6 before 19,322 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.
Rakeem Cato threw for 152 yards and was sacked three times. Trent Richardson ran for 86 yards on 22 carries. Tra Carson ran 3 times for 43 yards and a score. Fred Davis caught 5 passes for 63 yards in the win.
Drew Willy completed 18 of 28 passes for 160 yards and 1 touchdown. He was sacked five times. John Crockett ran 16 times for 62 yards. Brandon Whitaker had 4 receptions for 58 yards and a score as the Bulldogs dropped their seventh straight.
( 6-2 ) Utah - 30 ( 5-3 ) New Orleans - 28
New Orleans, Louisiana; Dak Prescott continues to do it with his arm as well as his legs. Prescott completed 26 of 35 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns, plus ran for 61 yards and a score on 18 carries as the Utah Mammoths topped the New Orleans Nightmare 30-28 Saturday..He threw one interception.
Dominick Goodman caught 8 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns . Rolly Lumbala added a touchdown run in the win. Steve Octavien recorded 9 tackles, 1 pass deflection, 1 stuff and a forced fumble to lead the defense.
The Nightmare were led by quarterback Colby Cameron who threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns. He threw one interception and sacked twice. He also ran for a score. Brandon Rutledge ran 6 times for 78 yards and a score. Jerome Messum had 10 carries for 43 yards. Rannell Hall had 7 catches for 76 yards.
( 5-3 ) Birmingham - 38 ( 5-3 ) San Antonio - 28
Birmingham, Alabama; Trevor Harris threw for 264 yards and a touchdown as the Birmingham Predators defeated the San Antonio Six-Shooters 30-28 at Legion Field Saturday night.
Rex Burkhead ran 23 times for 87 yards and three touchdowns. Nice Grisby caught 3 passes for 77 yards. Casey Pierce had a touchdown reception. Paul McRoberts had a 89 yard punt return for a touchdown as the Predators move to 5-3 on the year.
Tajh Boyd completed 17 of 33 passes for 211 yards and one touchdown. He was sacked twice. Marshaun Coprich ran 13 times for 73 yards. Kenneth Farrow had a touchdown run and Jack Doyle had a touchdown reception for the Six-Shooters who fall to 5-3.
