Week Nine Sunday Wrap up



( 5-4 ) New York- 19   ( 1-8 ) Philadelphia- 0

Brooklyn, New York:  Johnny Manziel tossed a 19 yard touchdown pass to Aaron Burbridge late in the fourth quarter to lift the New York Emporers to a 19-0 shut out win over the Philadelphia Bulldogs Sunday afternoon. The Emporers have shut out the Bulldogs in both meetings this season.

Manziel completed 16 of 26 passes for 225 yards and a score. Lamar Miller had 59 yards on 18 carries. Dres Anders had 6 receptions for 110 yards. Aaron Burbridge finished with 2 receptions for 38 yards and a score as the Emporers improve to 5-4.

Bulldog quarterback Drew Willy completed 12 of 23 passes for 105 yards to lead the Bulldogs ( 1-8 ).

( 6-3 ) New Orleans- 34   ( 3-6 ) Memphis- 20

New Orleans, LA:  Colby Cameron threw one touchdown pass and ran for another as the New Orleans Nightmare defeated the Memphis Knights 34-20 Sunday afternoon.

Cameron completed 25 of 35 passes for 369 yards and one touchdown, with one interception and sacked once. He also ran for 22 yards on 5 carries and a score. Jerome Messum had 12 carries for 74 yards and a score. Rannell Hall caught 4 passes for 73 yards and a score. Mike Davis also had a touchdown reception, catching 4 passes for 56 yards.

Memphis quarterback Ricky Ray threw for 258 yards with 2 interceptions. Cameron Artis- Payne ran 14 times for 55 yards and a score. Marcus Johnson caught 6 passes for 124 yards. Bobby McCain had a 29 yard interception return for a touchdown in the loss.


( 4-5 ) Omaha- 38     ( 5-3 ) Chicago- 28

Omaha, Nebraska;  Rakeem Cato completed 22 of 33 passes for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Omaha Bulls topped the Chicago Stags 38-28.

Tra Carson ran for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns on 22 carries. Fred Davis had 10 catches for 115 yards. Mike Thomas had 2 touchdown receptions and Da'Ron Brown also had a touchdown reception.

Brandon Doughty led the Stags completing 24 of 44 passes for 355 yards and 3 touchdowns. Alfred Morris made his return, rushing for 97 yards and a score on 18 carries. Roger Lewis had 9 receptions for 161 yards and a score. Marcus Davis had 3 catches for 78 yards and a score.

Brandon Doughty fumbled 3 times.


( 9-0 ) Louisville- 35     ( 2-7 ) Carolina- 28

Raliegh, N.C;   Bo Levi Mitchell completed 20 of 30 passes for 382 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Louisville Thoroughbreds remained unbeaten with a 35-28 victory over the Carolina Swarm .

The win came at a cost as league leading rusher Ray Rice left the game in the second quarter with an apparent shoulder injury and did not return. Rice finished with 6 carries for 42 yards and a score. Zac Stacey replaced him and ran for 104 yards and two scores on 26 carries.

Josh Stewart caught 6 passes for 124 yards. Ryan Spadola had 5 receptions for 109 yards and a score. Cameron Meredith also had a touchdown reception in the win.

Shane Carden led the Swarm throwing for 281 yards and 3 touchdowns. Luke Tasked had 5 receptions for 77 yards and a score. Dustin Keller and Joique Bell also had a touchdown reception in the loss.


( 4-5 ) Orlando- 31    ( 3-6 ) Miami- 24

Miami, Florida;  Tim Tebow threw for one touchdown and ran for another in guiding the Orlando Vipers to a 31-24 win over the Miami Sharks.

Tebow completed 18 of 23 passes for 188 yards and a score, plus ran for 45 yards and a score on 15 carries as Orlando improves to 4-5. Isaiah Burse caught 9 passes for 77 yards and a score in the win.

Zach Colloras led Miami throwing for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 of 27 passing. David Cobb ran for 49 yards  and a touchdown. Nick Toon caught 3 passes for 95 yards including a 75 yard touchdown reception. S.J. Green also had a touchdown reception as the Sharks fall to 3-6. Dropping their sixth straight.


( 6-3 ) San Antonio- 35    ( 5-4 ) Oklahoma- 9

San Antonio, Texas:  Marshaun Coprich ran for 5 touchdowns as the San Antonio Six-Shooters crushed the Oklahoma Roughnecks 35-9 in a battle of Frontier Division leaders at Alamo Stadium.

Tajh Boyd completed 20 of 28 passes for 245 yards. Coprich finished with 54 yards on 13 carries. Jamaal Jones caught 7 passes for 82 yards in the win for San Antonio.

Matt Johnson led Oklahoma completing 16 of 31 passes for 174 yards and was sacked four times.

Late Game:

( 6-3 ) Los Angeles- 48    ( 1-8 ) Sacramento- 20

Jay Ajayi 28 carries 172 yards and four touchdowns.
