Week Nine Saturday Wrap-Up!
( 7-2 ) Dallas- 30 ( 5-4 ) Birmingham- 27
Dallas, Texas; Mike Reilly threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns as the Dallas Outlaws defeated the Birmingham Predators 30-27 in a Mid-South Division match up Saturday.
Reilly completed 27 of 41 passes and was sacked twice. Ben Tate ran 7 times for 54 yards. Malcolm Mitchell caught 4 passes for 76 yards. Bud Sasser had 4 receptions for 73 yards and a score. Brelan Chancellor also had a touchdown reception. Gerald Hayes had 13 tackles, one stuff and one hurry to lead the defense.
Trevor Harris completed 28 of 38 passes for 273 yards and 1 touchdown to lead Birmingham. He threw one interception and was sacked twice. Rex Burkhead ran 18 times for 79 yards and a score. Jakeem Grant had 6 receptions for 81 yards. Casey Pierce caught 6 passes for 66 yards and a score.
( 4-4 ) Hartford- 29 ( 5-3 ) Denver- 17
Storrs, Ct; Connor Halliday completed 19 of 36 passes for 294 yards and 3 touchdowns in leading the Hartford Sentinels to a 29-17 victory over the Denver Miners before a near capacity crowd at Rentschler Field Saturday.
Devon Johnson ran for 91 yards on 15 carries. Antwan Goodley had 5 receptions for 170 yards and two touchdowns including a 74 yarder. Boris Bede made 3 of 4 field goals in the win for the Sentinels.
Miner quarterback Vad Lee threw for only 93 yards and a touchdown, while completing 9 of 28 passes. He threw 1 interception and was sacked once. Anthony Allen ran 17 times for 71 yards. Taj Smith had 4 receptions for 49 yards and a score. Kyshoen Jarrett has a 76 yard punt return for a touchdown as the Miners drop to 5-3.
( 6-3 ) Pittsburgh- 37 ( 5-4 ) Washington- 35
Pittsburgh, Pa; Alex Carder threw for 359 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Pittsburgh Forge defeated the Washington Wave 37-35 to take sole possession of the Atlantic Division lead.
Carder completed 27 of 48 passes and was sacked four times. Tyler Gaffney had a 11 carries for 30 yards and a score. Jeremy Lang also had a touchdown run. Jordan Williams had 7 receptions for 127 yards and a score. Clarence Denmark had 5 receptions for 69 yards and a score as the Forge move to 6-3.
Mike Bercovici completed 28 of 44 passes for 323 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Wave. Kenneth Dixon ran for 53 yards and 3 touchdowns. Dontella Luckett had 9 receptions for 167 yards and a score for the Wave who fall to 5-4.
( 3-6 ) Columbus- 42 ( 5-3 ) Michigan- 23
Columbus, Ohio; Terrelle Pryor threw for 173 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Columbus Explorers stun the Michigan Panthers 42-23 before 29,288 at Mapfre Stadium Saturday.
Pryor completed 16 of 18 passes, plus ran 8 times for 49 yards. Eric Breitenstein ran 20 times for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mycole Pruitt had 7 receptions for 62 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jared Abbrederis also had a touchdown reception in the win.
Cody Kessler completed 19 of 26 passes for 146 yards and a score. He was sacked three times. Paul Perkins ran for a score, while rushing for 34 yards on 4 carries. Andre Ellington caught 7 passes for 50 yards. Issac Blake had a touchdown reception in the loss for the Panthers.
( 7-2 ) Utah- 48 ( 3-6 ) Portland- 20
Portland, Oregon; Dak Prescott completed 19 of 29 passes for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns as the red hot Utah Mammoths ripped the Portland Pioneers 48-20.
Cierre Wood ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Tyrell Sutton had 8 carries for 36 yards and a score. Dezmin Lewis caught 7 passes for 65 yards. Darius Johnson had two touchdown receptions and Dominick Goodman had one.
AJ McCarron led the Pioneers completing 20 of 33 passes for 318 yards and a touchdown. He threw one interception and was sacked three times.
