(3-6) Hartford Sentinels- 40 Arkansas Rhinos - 30
Storrs, Connecticut; Julian Edelman caught 8 passes for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Hartford Sentinels defeated the Arkansas Rhinos at Rentschler Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Connor Halliday threw for 348 yards and 3 touchdowns . He was sacked 4 times. Anthony Jordan ran 11 times for 80 yards . Jamal Robinson had 4 catches for 121 yards and a score. Jacob Peterson had 7 receptions for 85 yards. Boris Bede went 4 for 4 on field goal attempts. Jamar Chaney led the defense with 11 tackles and a stuff . Kenneth Acker had a 80 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the win for the Sentinels.
Arkansas quarterback Colby Cameron threw for 251 yards and was sacked twice. Jordan Canzeri ran 10 times for 48 yards and 2 touchdowns . Justin Manton connected on 3 of 3 field goals . Ken Fontenett had a 22 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown .
(4-5) Columbus Aviators - 37 (5-4) Memphis Hound Dogs - 14
Columbus , Ohio ; Chuckie Keeton completed 28 of 37 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown , with 1 interception as the Columbus Aviators pounded the Memphis Hound Dogs 37- 14 before 24,100 at Mapfre Stadium Saturday.
Keeton also ran for 67 yards on 9 carries. Eric Brietenstein ran 16 times for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joseph Randall ran for a score while rushing for 7 yards on 4 carries. Jared Abbrederis caught 5 passes for 50 yards and a score. Mycole Pruitt had 9 receptions for 81 yards for the Aviators who improve to 4-5.
Ricky Ray led Memphis, completing 16 of 28 passes for 213 yards and a touchdown. He threw 2 interceptions . Zack Line ran for a touchdown while rushing for 43 yards on 6 carries. Neal Sterling caught 6 passes for 71 yards. Marcus Johnson had 3 catches for 29 yards and a score for the Aviators.
(3-6) Georgia Generals - 21 (3-6) Orlando Vipers - 10
Atlanta, Georgia ; Case Keenum completed 13 of 24 passes for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Georgia Generals to a 21-10 victory over the Orlando Vipers at Bobby Dodd Stadium Saturday in his AFFA debut .
Keenum was sacked four times and threw one interception. Tyler Ervin ran 20 times for 74 yards and a touchdown . Jordan Williams caught 4 passes for 82 yards and a score. Austin Pettis also had a touchdown reception , catching 2 passes for 36 yards.
RJ Archer threw for 191 yards and was sacked 4 times. Jahad Thomas ran 15 times for 57 yards and a touchdown . De'Runnya Wilson had 8 receptions for 127 yards for Orlando in the loss.
(8-1) Louisville Thoroughbreds- 47 (4-5) Carolina Breakers - 30
Raleigh ,N.C; Bo Levi Mitchell completed 23 of 34 passes for 390 yards and 3 touchdowns to lift the Louisville Thoroughbreds past the Carolina Breakers Saturday at Carter Finley Stadium Sunday .
Mitchell also threw 1 interception and was sacked 3 times. Ray Rice ran 13 times for 56 yards and a touchdown. Ben Malena ran 10 times for 45 yards and a score. Zac Stacy also ran for a touchdown . Ryan Spadola had 8 receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown. Cameron Meredith caught 4 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Reggie Jordan had 1 reception for 9 yards and a score.
Shane Carden completed 23 of 41 passes for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was sacked twice. Joique Bell ran 7 times for 55 yards and a score . Jacqiuzz Rodgers ran 8 times for 8 yards and a touchdown.
(6-3) Portland Pioneers - 28 (7-2) Miami Sharks - 17
Miami , Florida ; Bryan Bennett threw for one touchdown and ran for another as the Portland Pioneers upset the Miami Sharks 28-17 before a capacity crowd at FIU Stadium.
Bennett completed 21 of 23 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown, with one interception . He also ran 16 times for 71 yards and a score. Wendell Smallwood ran 10 times for 58 yards and a score .Miguel Maysonnet ran 6 times for 34 yards and a touchdown. Connor Hamlet had a touchdown reception, catching 3 passes for 29 yards.
Zach Collaros completed 24 of 37 passes for 279 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was sacked twice . Tajae Sharp caught 12 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown. Ezell Ruffin had 7 receptions for 96 yards and a score as the Sharks fall to 7-2.
(4-5) Denver Miners - 33 (2-7) San Antonio Mustangs - 28
San Antonio , Texas; Antonio Andrews ran for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns on 26 carries as the Denver Miners defeated the San Antonio Mustangs 33-28 at the Alamo Dome.
Vad Lee threw 179 yards and a touchdown while completing 16 of 30 passes. He threw one interception and was sacked twice. Kasen Williams had 5 catches for 104 yards and a score K.J. Dillon had a 35 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the win.
Tajh Boyd threw for 105 yards and a touchdown ,while completing 11 of 22 passes. He was sacked six times . Marshaun Coprich ran 11 times for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns. Adarius Bowman had a touchdown reception, catching 3 passes for 36 yards. TJ Jones caught 7 passes for 50 yards . De'Anthony Thomas had a 70 yard punt return for a touchdown in the loss for the Mustangs .
(5-4) Albuquerque Aztecs - 24 (4-5) New York Empire - 20
Albuquerque, New Mexico ; Travis Lulay completed 18 of 31 passes for 174 yards, plus ran for a score as the Albuquerque Aztecs got by the New York Empire 24-20 at University Stadium Saturday night.
Lulay finished rushing for 30 yards on 3 carries and a touchdown. David Fluellen ran 19 times for 66 yards . Ray Graham ran for 28 yards and a score on 3 carries. Rashad Green had 7 receptions for 70 yards in the win.
New York's Johnny Manziel threw for 251 yards and 2 touchdowns, while completing 18 of 28 passes. He threw one interception and sacked twice. Lamar Miller ran 10 times for 54 yards. Aaron Burbridge caught 7 passes for 124 yards and a score. Dres Anders caught 3 passes for 40 yards and a score for the Empire.
(7-2) Houston Wranglers - 35 (6-3) Oklahoma Roughnecks - 25
Houston, Texas; Blake Sims completed 20 of 29 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown as the Houston Wranglers topped the Oklahoma Roughnecks 35-25 in a Frontier Division showdown, leaving the Wranglers alone atop the division .
Kapri Bibbs ran for 3 touchdowns, while rushing for 89 yards on 21 carries . Jeremiah Johnson ran 9 times for 65 yards and a score. Deontay Grey had 6 receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. Jason Avant had 7 catches for 111 yards.
Matt Johnson led the Roughnecks ,completing 28 of 48 passes for 364 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was sacked three times .Chris Moore caught 9 passes for 159 yards and a score. Chandler Jones had 5 receptions for 69 yards and a score. Josh Harper caught 5 passes for 66 yards and a touchdown in the loss for the Roughnecks who fall to 6-3.
