(4-4) New York Empire - 38 (5-3) Pittsburgh Ironmen - 23
Brooklyn, New York; Dee Hart and Darrin Reaves combined for 224 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns as the New York Empire topped the Pittsburgh Ironmen 38-23 before a packed house at MCU Park in Brooklyn Friday night.
Hart finished with 114 yards and 3 touchdowns on 18 carries and 3 touchdowns. Darrin Reaves ran 24 times for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. Johnny Manziel threw for 158 yards, while completing 13 of 21 passes. He also ran 4 times for 30 yards in the win. Aaron Burbridge caught 5 passes for 52 yards. JaCorey Shepard led the defense with 9 tackles.
Alex Carder led the Ironmen, completing 21 of 37 passes for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. He threw 3 interceptions. Alec Lemon had 9 catches for 125 yards and a score. Clarence Denmark caught 8 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. The Ironmen were held to only 5 yards rushing in the game. Brandon Banks had a 88 yard kick return for a touchdown in the loss for the Ironmen who fall to 5-3 on the year.
The Empire improved to 4-4 on the season.
