A. F. F. A. FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ( Week 13)


( 6-6)  Hartford - 36      ( 5-8)  Columbus - 17

Storrs, Ct:   Devon Johnson ran for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 carries as the Hartford Sentinels  defeated the Columbus Explorers 36-17, before 18, 333 at Rentschler Field Friday night.

Columbus led 14-7 after Eric Breitenstein ran in from 1 yard out early in the second quarter. Hartford tied it up as Devon Johnson scored his second touchdown of the night, running in from 15 yards out with 8: 19 remaining in the half. The Sentinels took the lead with 5: 45 remaining as Anthony Jordan ran for a ten yard touchdown. The extra point was no good,  Hartford led 20-14.

With 3: 16 remaining in the half,  Julian Edelman returned a punt 72 yards for a score. A BeBe extra point gave the Sentinels a 27-14 lead. That is where it stood at the half.

With 9: 01 remaining in the third,  Boris BeBe kicked a 38 yard field goal extending the Sentinels lead to 30-14.  With 14: 05 remaining in the game, Columbus made the score 30-17 as Tommy Frevert booted a 45 yard field goal. Boris BeBe sealed the deal with two field goals ( 33, 39) making the final score Hartford -36  Columbus -17.

Connor Halliday completed 17 of 30 passes for 262 yards with 1 interception and sacked once. Anthony Jordan ran 9 times for 50 yards and a score. Nick Boyle had 6 receptions for 98 yards as Hartford improves to 6-6 and remains in the race for the Atlantic Division title.

Eric Breitenstein led Columbus,  rushing for  94 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Mycole Pruitt had a touchdown reception. Terrell Pryor completed 12 of 24 passes for only 85 yards and one touchdown as Columbus falls to 5-8 on the year.
