A. F. F. A. SUNDAY RESULTS (Week Twelve)

( 5-7)  Miami - 38      ( 11-1)  Louisville - 14

Miami, Florida;  Zach Collaros threw for 295 yards and 1 touchdown, while completing 17 of 22 passes as the Miami Sharks upset previously unbeaten Louisville Thoroughbreds 38-14 Sunday at FIU Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Zack Stacy put Louisville on the board first as he plowed in from 2 yards out for a touchdown with 9: 34 remaining in the first quarter. Louisville led 7-0.

With  9: 09 left in the first,  Zach Collaros tossed a 46 yard touchdown pass to S. J.  Green completing a 3 play 46 yard drive. A Sam Ficken extra point tied it up 7-7.  Miami took the lead with 11: 50 remaining in the first half as Sam Ficken connected on a 23 yard field goal to put the Sharks up 10-7.  Miami extended their lead to 24-7 as Jordan Howard ran for two scores ( 1, 22).  With 8: 00 remaining in the third quarter,  DeShaun Shead intercepted a pass and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown as the Sharks took a commanding 31-7 lead. Miami wasn't through as with 13: 21 remaining in the game,  B. J.  Catalon ran in from 1 yard out.  A Sam Ficken extra point made the score 38-7 Sharks.

With 4: 53 remaining, Louisville would round out the scoring as Bo Levi Mitchell tossed a 1 yard touchdown pass to Zack Stacy.  Louisville went on to lose their first game of the year 38-14.

Miami running back Jordan Howard led all rushers with 112 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries. Ezell Ruffin had 5 receptions for 120 yards. Tajae Sharpe caught 7 passes for 82 yards.  S. J.  Green had 4 catches for 85 yards and a score in the win.

Bo Levi Mitchell led the Thoroughbreds completing 20 of 48 passes for 213 yards and 1 touchdown. He was sacked once and threw one interception. Zack Stacy ran 15 times for 65 yards and a score, plus had a touchdown reception in the loss.

( 4-8)  Philadelphia - 31     ( 5-6)  Hartford - 23

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania;   Alex Tanney completed 20 of 36 passes for 289 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Philadelphia Bulldogs defeated the Hartford Sentinels 31-23 Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.

John Crockett ran 17 times for 112 yards and 2 scores.  D'Haquille Williams had 6 catches for 61 yards and a score.   Fred Stamps caught 4 passes for 72 yards.  Khari Lee caught 4 passes for 71 yards. Rod Windsor had a touchdown reception, catching  3 passes for 51 yards and a score for the Bulldogs.

Connor Halliday led Hartford,  throwing for 299 yards and a touchdown.  Devon Johnson ran 10 times for 67 yards and a score.  Anthony Jordan also had a touchdown,  rushing  5 times for 52 yards,  plus had a touchdown reception.  Antwan Goodley caught 3 passes for 62 yards in the loss for the Sentinels.


( 9-3)  New Orleans - 24      ( 5-7)  Birmingham - 17

New Orleans, Louisiana;  Colby Cameron threw for 193 yards and a touchdown as the New Orleans Nightmare improved to 9-3 with a 24-17 victory over the Birmingham Predators. He threw 2 interceptions and was sacked once.

Brandon Rutley had 99 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Jerome Messum also had a touchdown run, rushing for 29 yards on 8 carries. Cody Hoffman caught 5 passes for 91 yards and a score. Tony Stewart and Trey DePriest each had 10 tackles to lead the defense for the Nightmare.

Birmingham was led by quarterback Trevor Harris, who completed 20 of 25 passes for 234 yards with 1 interception.  Rex Burkhead ran 22 times for 71 yards,  plus a touchdown catch.  Rashard Higgins had a touchdown reception, catching  3 passes for  83 yards in the loss for Birmingham. Marcus Roberson led the Predators defense with 10 tackles and a pass deflection.

( 6-5)  Michigan - 27   ( 4-8) Omaha - 24

Detroit, Michigan;  Andre Ellington ran for 95 yards and a score on 20 carries, plus caught  8 passes for  40 yards,  in leading the Michigan Panthers past the Omaha Bulls  27-24 before 34, 000 at Ford Field Sunday.

Panthers quarterback Cody Kessler threw for 216 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked twice.  Darrin Pete caught 6 passes for 99 yards. Paroah Cooper caught 6 passes for 63 yards in the win. Ziggy Hood led the Panthers defense with 7 tackles, 1 sack, 2 stuffs and a forced fumble.

Rakeem Cato led the Bulls, throwing for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was sacked 4 times. Tra Carson ran for 72 yards and a score on 22 carries.  Mike Thomas had 5 receptions for 113 yards. Bennie Fowler and Fred Davis both had a touchdown reception in the loss for the Bulls. Steven Daniels led the Bulls defense with 10 tackles, 1 hurry and a forced fumble.

( 3-9) Arizona - 45     ( 7-5) San Antonio - 24

Glendale, Arizona;  Ryan Nassib made his A. F. F. A. debut,  throwing for 248 yards on 21 of 27 passes as the Arizona Scorpions pounded the San Antonio Six-Shooters 45-24.

Ray Graham had 72 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries. Tim Cornett ran for  3 touchdowns, while rushing for 58 yards on 15 carries. Rashad Green had 6 receptions for 101 yards. Avery Williams led the defense with 7 tackles, 1 pass deflection,  1 hurry and a Forced fumble in the win for the Scorpions.

Tajh Boyd led the Six-Shooters, completing 16 of 27 passes for 228 yards and one touchdown. He was sacked 5 times and threw one interception.  Marshaun Coprich ran 14 times for 57 yards. Michael Ford had a touchdown run. Adarius Bowman had 8 receptions for 126 yards and a score in the loss.

( 7-4) Denver - 47    ( 3-9) Sacramento - 27

Sacramento, California;  Vad Lee completed 13 of 26 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns as the Denver Miners crushed the Sacramento Crusaders 47-27 at Hughes Stadium Sunday night.

Antonio Andrews ran 15 times for 108 yards and one touchdown. Chris Williams caught 4 passes for a whopping 164 yards and a score. Marqueis Grey also had a touchdown reception. Alex Henery went 4 for 4 on field goals.

Trevon Boykin led Sacramento, throwing for  381 yards and 3 touchdowns, while completing  21 of 39 passes, plus ran 10 times for 58 yards and a score.  Austin Hill caught 5 passes for 144 yards and a score.  Colt Lyerla had a touchdown reception, catching 4 passes for 82 yards in the loss.
