A.F.F.A WEEK 10 SUNDAY WRAP UP
( 2-8 ) Philadelphia- 20 ( 2-8 ) Carolina-13
Raleigh, N.C; Alex Tanney made the most of his first A.F.F.A start, throwing for 282 yards and a touchdown as the Philadelphia Bulldogs defeated the Carolina Swarm 20-13 before 17,000 + at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Tanney completed 21 of 26 passes and was sacked twice. John Crockett ran for 51 yards and one touchdown. Brandon Whitaker had 10 carries for 57 yards. Rod Streater had 4 receptions for 116 yards including a 69 yard touchdown reception. Rod Windsor caught 7 passes for 61 yards.in the win as the Bulldogs won for the first time since week one.
Shane Carder led the Swarm, completing 19 of 36 passes for 201 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Luke Tasker had a touchdown reception in the loss.
( 10-0 ) Louisville- 43 ( 4-5 ) Hartford- 27
Louisville, Kentucky; Bo Levi Mitchell completed 17 of 29 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns as the unbeaten Louisville Thoroughbreds batterd the Hartford Sentinels 43-27 before a sold out PaPa John's Stadium Sunday afternoon.
William Powell ran for 3 touchdowns on 13 carries for 55 yards. Ryan Spadola caught 5 passes for 49 yards and a touchdown. Cameron Meredith had a touchdown reception catching 2 passes for 31 yards as the Thoroughbreds move to 10-0 on the season. Running back Ray Rice is out with a shoulder injury which occurred last week. He will miss the rest of the regular season.
Hartford quarterback Conner Halliday continues to put up the numbers, throwing for 393 yards and 4 touchdowns. He completed 24 of 34 passes and was sacked twice. Antwan Goodley had 8 receptions for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jordan Payton had a touchdown reception, catching 2 passes for 36 yards. Hartford falls to 4-5.
( 6-3 ) Chicago- 48 ( 3-7 ) Portland- 31
Chicago, Illinois: The Chicago Stags took over sole possession of first place in the Great Lakes Division with a 48-31 victory over the Portland Pioneers at Soldier Field Sunday.
Brandon Doughty threw for 255 yards and 3 touchdowns, while completing 18 of 26 passes. He had one interception. Alfred Morris ran 22 times for 113 yards and 3 touchdowns. Willie Snead caught 5 passes for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns. Marcus Davis also had a touchdown reception in the win. DJ Moore had 225 kick return yards on 4 receptions for a 56.3 average.
Portland was led by Miguel Masonnet who ran 21 times for 147 yards and 3 touchdowns. AJ McCarron completed 17 of 24 passes for 208 and one touchdown. He was sacked 3 times. Geremy Davis caught 6 passes for 76 yards. Austin Pettis had a touchdown reception, catching 4 passes for 36 yards. Allen Hurns caught 4 passes for 60 yards.
( 8-2 ) Dallas- 37 ( 3-7 ) Columbus- 30
Columbus, Ohio: Mike Reilly completed 25 of 36 passes for 391 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Dallas Outlaws survived the upset threat with a 37-30 victory over the Columbus Explorers before a sold out Mapfre Stadium in Columbus.
Ben Tate ran for 77 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries. Malcom Mitchell caught 7 passes for 174 yards and a score. Bud Sassed had 7 receptions for 123 yards. Wes Saxton caught 5 passes for 52 yards and a score. Josh Norman led the Outlaw defense with 7 tackles, 2 pass deflections and an interception.
Terrell Pryor completed 17 of 29 passes for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns, plus ran for 68 yards on 8 carries to lead the Explorers. He was intercepted twice and sacked once.Andrew Turzil caught 4 passes for 67 yards. Jeff Scott and Mycole Pruitt each had a touchdown reception. Onterio McCalebb recorded a 102 yard kick off return for a touchdown in the loss.
( 5-5 ) Orlando- 38 ( 6-4 ) San Antonio- 31
San Antonio, Texas: Isaiah Burse had 2 punt returns for touchdowns ( 72, 72 ) plus caught 6 passes for 54 yards as the Orlando Vipers topped the San Antonio Six-Shooters 38-31 at Alamo Stadium Sunday.
Quarterback Tim Tebow completed 12 of 20 passes for 146 yards, plus ran for 79 yards and a score on 14 carries. Alex Collins rushed for 76 yards on 15 carries. Kenny Hillard ran for a score while rushing for 43 yards on 13 carries. Peyton Barber also ran for a score. Orlando improved to 5-5 on the year
Tajh Boyd completed 12 of 22 passes for 121 yards and 1 touchdown. He was sacked five times. Marshaun Coprich ran 17 times for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns. Adarius Bowman had 5 catches for 38 yards. Jamaal Jones caught 3 passes for 37 yards and a score in the loss. Six-Shooters fall to 6-4.
Ben Heeney recorded 16 tackles, 3 stuffs and a forced fumble to lead the Six-Shooters defense.
( 6-3 ) Denver- 19 ( 6-4 ) Pittsburgh- 10
Denver, Colorado: Anthony Andrews ran 17 times for 41 yards and one touchdown, while also catching 7 passes for 63 yards to lead the Denver Miners to a 19-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Forge Sunday evening.
Vad Lee completed 25 of 40 passes for 250 yards with one interception. Alex Henery went 4 for 4 on field goals with a long of 47 yards.
The Forge were led by Alex Carder who threw for 208 yards and 1 touchdown. He was sacked five times. Tyler Gaffney was held to 37 yards on 8 carries. Jordan Williams caught 4 passes for 32 yards and a score. Eric Rogers had 4 receptions for 57 yards.
( 6-4 ) Washington- 37 ( 6-4 ) Los Angeles- 31 ( OT )
Los Angeles, California: Michael Bercovici threw a 48 yard touchdown pass to Dontella Luckett with 9:02 remaining in overtime to lift the Washington Wave past the Los Angeles Pharaohs 37-31 at the Stub Hub Center Sunday night.
Bercovici threw for 438 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception. Kenneth Dixon ran 14 times for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns. Shock Linwood ran for 34 yards and a score. Dontella Luckett caught 10 passes for 197 yards and 2 scores. Chad Owens had 11 receptions for 117 yards and one touchdown. Brandon Spikes led the Wave defense with 8 tackles, 2 stuffs and 2 hurries.
Pharoah quarterback Jeff Driskell completed 24 of 42 passes for 260 yards and one touchdown with one interception and sacked once. Terrell Watson ran for two touchdowns and 71 yards on 13 carries. Jay Ajayi had 4 carries for 41 yards and a score. Jo Don Duncan had 6 receptions for 67 yards and one touchdown in the loss.
