Denver, Colorado: Brandon Doughty threw a six yard touchdown pass to Rodger Lewis with 1: 28 remaining, as the Chicago Stags overcame a 31 point deficit to defeat the Denver Miners 34-31 Saturday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Doughty completed 28 of 51 passes for 334 yards and 2 touchdowns. He threw 1 interception and was sacked once. Dominique Brooks and Alfred Morris each had a touchdown run. Roger Lewis caught 10 passes for 161 yards and 2 scores. Ray Ray Armstrong led the Stags defense with 9 tackles, 1 stuff and a interception ( 27).
Vad Lee led the Miners completing 20 of 29 passes for 313 yards and 1 touchdown. He threw 3 interceptions and was sacked once. Antonio Andrews ran 17 times for 67 yards and a touchdown. Derrick Ross also ran for a score, while rushing for 21 yards on 10 carries. Chris Williams caught 4 passes for 78 yards and a score, plus had a 71 yard non touchdown run. Keyarris Garrett caught 5 passes for 100 yards. Jake Ryan led the Miners defense with 11 tackles, 2 stuffs and 1 hurry.
It was the only game played on Saturday.
