WEEK SIXTEEN: SUNDAY RESULTS


(10-5) Columbus- 35    (8-6-1) Shreveport- 23

Columbus, Oh;  Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 416 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Columbus Explorers (10-5) defeated the Shreveport Pirates (8-6-1) 35-23 at Ohio Stadium Sunday afternoon .

Mitchell completed 27 of 41 passes with 1 interception and sacked once.  Adrian N. Peterson ran 20 times for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns. Reggie Williams had 8 receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown. Mark Clayton caught 6 passes for 118 yards. Bruce Ellington had a touchdown reception as did Jacquizz Rodgers.

Darian Durant led the Pirates attack completing 18 of 39 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown and sacked twice. Jason Barnes had a touchdown reception. Justin Veltung recorded a second quarter 58 yard punt return for a touchdown. The Pirates were held to only 58 yards rushing on 16 attempts as the Pirates slip to 8-6-1 on the season.

" We have got to be more consistent on offense and defense. We just didn't execute very well on either side of the ball. " said Pirates head coach Gary Crowton following the game.

(8-7) Virginia- 35    (4-11) Utah- 14

Norfolk, Va;  Dan LeFevour completed 24 of 30 passes for 324 yards and 1 touchdown and sacked once in leading the Virginia Tritons to a 35-14 victory over the Utah Mammoths.

Chad Spann ran for 104 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tysson Poots had 7 receptions for 132 yards and a score. Lawrence Vickers had a touchdown run in the win for the Tritons.

Ryan Alpine threw for 282 yards and 2 touchdowns and was sacked 5 times. Marion Grice ran 11 times for only 48 yards. Tony Fiammetta had a touchdown reception for the Mammoths

(9-6) Sacramento- 17   (7-8) Dallas- 10

Dallas, Tx:  Kaderius Lacey ran for 132 yards on 26 attempts as the Sacramento Crusaders got by the Dallas Wranglers 17-10 before 31,177 at the Cotton Bowl Sunday.

Ryan Nassib completed 17 of 28 passes for 125 yards and 1 touchdown. Andre Ellington ran for a score while rushing for 40 yards on 8 carries. Randy Moss had 3 receptions for 33 yards and 1 touchdown for the Crusaders.

Tim Tebow threw for 141 yards while completing 14 of 26 passes and sacked once. Tebow also ran 12 times for 68 yards and fumbled once.

George Winn rumbled for 173 yards on 22 carries and Joique Bell had a touchdown run. Brian Kehl led the defense with 14 tackles in the loss for the Wranglers.

(9-6) Hartford- 35     (6-8-1) Michigan- 23

Storrs, Ct:  Colt Brennan completed 26 of 32 passes for 329 yards and 1 touchdown, with 1 interception to lead the Hartford Sentinels past the Michigan Panthers before 22,333 at Rentschler Field Sunday evening.

Charles Scott ran 12 times for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns. Miguel Maysonet had 62 yards rushing and a touchdown on 14 carries. Rico Richardson had 8 receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown for the Sentinels.

Khiry Robinson ran for 170 yards, including a 75 yard touchdown catch and run. Robinson also caught 4 passes for 40 yards. Kyle Miller had 4 catches for 57 yards and a score. Antavious Wilson caught 4 passes for 62 yards and 1 touchdown.

Aaron Murray completed 16 of 25 passes for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns , with 1 interception in the loss for Michigan.

(11-4) Portland- 27   (7-8) Memphis- 3

Eugene, Or:  Brian Brohm threw for 289 yards and 4 touchdowns , as the Portland Dragons moved to 11-4 with a 27-3 victory over the Memphis Hound Dogs Sunday night at Autzen Stadium.

Brohm finished completing 21 of 25 passes and was sacked twice. Chris Polk had 53 yards rushing on 13 carries. Jasper Collins had 6 receptions for 128 yards and 1 touchdown. Ryan Spadola caught 4 passes for 57 yards and a touchdown as the Dragons virtually wrap up a playoff spot.

Ricky Ray completed 17 of 25 passes for 172 yards and an interception with 2 sacks to lead the Hound Dogs who fall to 7-8 on the season. Mark Herzlich recorded 11 tackles with 1 hurry and 1 stuff on defense.

WEEK SIXTEEN: SATURDAY RESULTS


(8-7) Orlando- 20    (9-6) Birmingham- 17

Orlando, Fla:  Darron Thomas completed 16 of 23 passes for 173 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 sacks as the Orlando Renegades upended the Birmingham Barracudas 20-17 before 30,416 at the Citrus Bowl Saturday.

Steven Miller ran 14 times for 63 yards and a touchdown. Kenjon Barber had 55 yards rushing and a touchdown on 12 carries. Lee Evans caught 6 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown in the win as the Renegades kept their playoff hopes alive.

Greg McElroy completed 24 of 34 passes for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception and sacked twice. Josh Stewart had 11 receptions for 145 yards and a touchdown. Nate Kimic was held to just 41 yards on 10 carries as Birmingham slips to 9-6 on the season. Jeremiah George recorded 13 tackles on defense in the loss.


(8-6) Houston- 36    (8-6-1) Jacksonville- 17

Jacksonville, Fla:  Graham Harrell  threw for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns in leading the Houston Gamblers to a 36-17 victory over the Jacksonville Bulls Saturday afternoon at Altell stadium .

Harrell completed 21 of 38 passes and sacked twice. Kevin Smith scored from 9 yards out, while rushing 35 yards on 10 carries. Marquess Wilson caught 8 passes for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win for the Gamblers who sit atop the Frontier Division. Swayze Waters connected on 5 of 5 field goal attempts.

Ryan Lindley threw for 183 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception and sacked 4 times, while completing 14 of 31 passes. Orson Charles had 4 receptions for 64 yards for the Bulls.


(9-6) Baltimore-35    (5-10) Arizona- 19

Baltimore, MD;  Keith Wenning completed 18 of 21 passes for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 sack, in leading the Baltimore Bombers to a 35-19 victory over the Arizona Scorpions.

Curtis McNeal ran for 92 yards and 1 touchdown on 18 carries. John White ran 8 times for 59 yards and a touchdown. Patrick Edwards had 5 receptions for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nik Lewis also had a touchdown reception in the win as the Bombers remain in the playoff hunt.

Vince Young threw for 363 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions, while completing 20 of 27 passes.

Tiger Jones caught 8 passes for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns. Michael Hill ran 14 times for 50 yards in the loss. Caleb Campbell led the defense with 14 tackles.

(8-7) Chicago- 27     (9-6) Carolina- 16

Chicago, Ill:  JaMarcus Russell threw for 239 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Chicago Stags win their third straight and climb back into the playoff picture with a 27-16 victory over the Carolina Swarm.

Stephon Jefferson ran ran 22 times for 68 yards and 1 touchdown. Aaron Mallette had 6 receptions for 113 yards. Chad Johnson and Juron Criner each had a touchdown reception in the win.

Jimmy Clausen led the Swarm throwing for 194 yards with 2 sacks. Tyler Gaffney ran 10 times for 97 yards and a touchdown. Lirim Hajrullahu connected on 3 of 3 field goals in the loss. Josh Hull had 16 tackles, 3 stuffs and a forced fumble on defense.

(7-8) Philadelphia- 38    (5-10)  Las Vegas- 31

Las Vegas, NV: Tajh Boyd threw for 344 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Philadelphia Stars defeated the Las Vegas Invaders 38-31 at Sam Boyd stadium Saturday night.

Boyd completed 20 of 26 passes and ran for 33 yards on 10 carries.  Alfred Morris had 18 carries for 102 yards. Brandon Stokley had 6 receptions for 179 yards and 3 touchdowns. Terrance Edwards had 5 catches for 62 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Stars who move to 7-8 on the season. Zack Moore had 6 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 hurry and a deflection for the defense.

Colby Cameron completed 21 of 30 passes for 235 yards and 2 touchdowns, with 2 sacks. Darren Reaves had 20 carries for 103 yards. Damarius Johnson and Fred Stamps each had touchdown receptions for the Invaders who fall to 5-10.

Chase Clement threw for 305 yards for the Miners in the win.


WEEK SIXTEEN: FRIDAY NIGHT RESULT


(5-10) Omaha- 38    (6-9) San Antonio- 0

Lincoln, NB:  A crowd of 35,000 filled Memorial Stadium Friday night and were not disappointed, as the Omaha Express played like true " Cornhuskers" dismantling the San Antonio Gunslingers 38-0.

Latavius Murray ran 18 times for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns. Alex Singleton and Owen Schmitt each had touchdown runs as well. Brandon Kaufman had 3 catches for 81 yards including a 58 yard touchdown catch.

Drew Willy completed 19 of 27 passes for 200 yards and 1 touchdown , with 1 interception in the win for the Express.

" We were told a large crowd was expected tonight.  We just wanted to come out and play hard and smart. Our  offensive line played a great game and our defense really stepped up." said a smiling Drew Willy following the game.

San Antonio who was shut out for the second consecutive game was held to just 153 total yards and had 9 penalties.

Mike Reilly threw for 111 yards on 13 of 23 passing and 1 sack. Lamin Barrow led the Gunslinger defense with 13 tackles, 1 hurry and 1 stuff.

The loss dropped San Antonio to 6-9 and severely damaged their play-off chances. Omaha moves to 5-10 on the season.

Philadelphia, Pa;  Tyrod Taylor threw for 269 yards and 3 touchdowns in leading the New York Phantoms to a 35-31 victory over the Philadelphia Stars Saturday at Franklin Field. The win pretty much wraps up a play off spot for the Phantoms.

Taylor completed 19 of 33 passes, and ran 9 times for 39 yards, he was sacked once.  LaRon Council ran 13 times for 53 yards and 2 touchdowns, plus a touchdown reception.  Mike James had 8 carries for 100 yards. Josh Hill had 4 catches for 45 yards and a touchdown. SJ Green caught 3 passes for 73 yards and a score in the win.

Tajh Boyd completed 18 of 26 passes for 303 yards and 1 touchdown with 3 sacks. Boyd also had a touchdown run.  Alfred Morris ran 19 times for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns. Terrance Edwards had 5 receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown for the Stars.

Memphis, Tn;  Darian Durant completed 22 of 38 passes for 276 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Shreveport Pirates (8-5-1) defeated the Memphis Hound Dogs 38-30 at the Liberty Bowl Saturday before 37,274.

Antonio Andrews had 12 carries for 45 yards, plus 9 receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. DJ Williams caught 4 passes for 20 yards and a touchdown. Hussain Abdullah had a 33 yard interception return for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Justin Veltung had a 57 yard punt return for a touchdown early in the second quarter for the Pirates. Richard Marshal led the defense with 10 tackles.

Ricky Ray threw for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception and a sack. He completed 32 of 47 pass on the day. Javon Ringer ran 18 times for 84 yards and a score, plus caught 10 passes for 56 yards. Austin Collie had 7 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Ty Hilton had 7 receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown. Matt Hazel also had a touchdown reception in the loss for Memphis who fall to ( 7-7 ) on the season.

Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 267 yards and 1 interception on 25 of 39 passing. He was sacked twice. Adrian N. Peterson had 63 yards rushing on 19 carries and Jacquizz Rodgers had a touchdown run. Mark Clayton caught 7 passes for 94 yards. Reggie Williams had 7 receptions for 82 yards. Brett Baer connected on 3 field goals in the win.

Aaron Murray completed 21 of 28 passes for 251 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception. Storm Johnson ran for 2 touchdowns while rushing for 82 yards on 14 carries. Kyle Miller had 7 receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown in the loss for the Panthers.

Chicago, Ill;  JaMarcus Russell tossed 5 touchdown passes as the Chicago Stags won their second straight, dominating the Omaha Express 32-16 at Soldier Field Saturday.

Russell threw for 326 yards while completing 24 of 32 passes and sacked once. Aaron Mallette had 7 catches for 129 yards and a touchdown. Chad Johnson caught 5 passes for 48 yards and a score. Stephon Jefferson caught 4 passes for 32 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 25 yards on 24 carries for the Stags.

Drew Willy completed 22 of 41 passes for 236 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 interceptions. He was sacked twice. Latavius Murray ran 13 times for 59 yards.  Brandon Kaufman caught 7 passes for 110 yards. Roy Roundtree had 4 receptions for 25 yards and 1 touchdown for the Express.

Sacramento, Ca;  Joseph Randle ran for two touchdowns and the Pharaoh defense did the rest as the Los Angeles Pharoahs stayed in the thick of the play off picture with a 21-10 victory over the Sacramento Crusaders at Hornet Field Saturday night before 22,200.

Joseph Randall finished with 62 yards on 22 carries, plus 4 receptions for 20 yards. Taylor Potts completed 17 of 30 passes for 163 yards with 2 sacks. Ryan Otten had 5 receptions for 64 yards for the Pharoahs. Prince Shembo recorded a safety on defense.

Ryan Nassib completed 13 of 32 passes for 117 yards and 1 touchdown. KA'Deem Carey had 76 yards on 8 carries and Kadarius Lacey ran 21 times for 56 yards. Ronnie Curran tallied 14 tackles in the loss for Sacramento.

Jacksonville, Fla:  Ryan Lindley threw for 276 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception, in leading the Jacksonville Bulls to a 21-0 shut out victory over the Virginia Tritons Friday night.

Lindley completed 16 of 23 passes on the night.  Beanie Wells punched in for 2 touchdowns while rushing for 79 yards on 18 carries. Cole Beasley had four receptions for 100 yards, including a 57 yard touchdown reception. Conner Vernon had 5 catches for 87 yards in the win for the Bulls.

" We played well. Our defense really stepped up and did a fine job as did our special teams. Offensively we sputtered at times, but that could be contributed to their (Virginia) defense. We are gonna work a lot of that out this week after we look at the film." said Bulls head coach Pete Carmichael Jr. following the game.

Dan LeFevour completed 17 of 30 passes for 154 yards and 1 interception with 2 sacks to lead the Tritons.

Vince Young completed 20 of 28 passes for 251 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Michael Hill ran for 115 yards on 21 carries, plus a touchdown reception. Tiger Jones had 6 receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown. Paul McCallum connected on 4 field goals in the win.

LaGarrette Blount had 14 carries for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns. James White also ran for a score. Austin Collie had 8 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown. Colin Anderson had 6 receptions for 71 yards and a score for the Hound Dogs.

Seth Dodge threw for 298 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception , while completing 27 of 31 passes. Donnie Avery caught 5 passes for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns. Josh Boyce had 5 catches for 39 yards and a score for the Maulers.

Scott Tolzien completed 11 of 19 passes for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns. Anthony Allen ran for 74 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. Nik Lewis had 3 catches for 29 yards.

Dan LeFevour completed 18 of 31 passes for 188 yards and 1 touchdown. Danny Amendola had 4 receptions for 44 yards. Jeremy Shockey had 4 catches for 54 yards and Lance Moore had a touchdown reception for Virginia who have won their last 3 games.

West Point, NY:  Beanie Wells rumbled for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 72 yard touchdown jaunt for Jacksonville. But the outcome of the game ended in a 24-24 deadlock

Tyrod Taylor completed 28 of a whopping 64 passes for 320 yards and 1 touchdown, with one interception and 2 sacks. LaRon Council ran 18 times for 126 yards and a touchdown, plus had 8 receptions for 83 yards and a score. Kealoha Pilares caught 7 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Bret Maher connected on 3 field goals for New York.

Ryan Lindley threw for 238 yards and 1 interception with 3 sacks for Jacksonville. Doug Baldwin had 5 catches for 54 yards and Quinton Demos had a 53 yard interception return for a touchdown for the Bulls. Thomas Decoud contributed on defense with 13 tackles.


Late games Sunday:  Portland (9-4) defeated Orlando 15-3 ;  Las Vegas (5-8) topped Michigan (6-6-1) 39-31.

WEEK FOURTEEN: SATURDAY RESULTS

Houston, Tx:  JaMarcus Russell threw for 236 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Chicago Stags stopped their losing streak at 6 with a 40-27 victory over the Houston Gamblers Saturday at NRG Stadium in Houston.

Russell completed 17 of 19 passes without an interception. Stephon Jefferson ran 29 times for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns, plus a touchdown reception. Chad Johnson had 6 receptions for 76 yards and a score. Aaron Mallette caught 5 passes for 99 yards and 1 touchdown in the win for the Stags who improve to 6-7 on the season. Alfred Morris ran for 76 yards and a touchdown. Brandon Stokley had 3 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown. Jacob Peterson caught 5 passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. Quincy McDuffie had a kick return of 88 yards for a touchdown and Rasheed Duncan a blocked punt return for a touchdown in the win.

Denver, Co:  Ryan Nassib completed 22 of 30 passes for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception to lead the Sacramento Crusaders (8-5) to a 35-29 victory over the Denver Miners (2-11) at Mile High Saturday night.

Kaderius Lacy ran for 49 yards on 15 carries and Ka'Deem Carey had 8 carries for 41 yards and 1 touchdown. TJ Houshmanzadeh had 6 receptions for 69 yards a touchdown. Javone Lawson and Randy Moss each had touchdown receptions in the win.

Chase Clement threw for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 sack , plus ran 10 times for 63 yards to lead Denver. Travis Murray had 4 catches for 34 yards and a touchdown. Marvin McNutt had a touchdown reception as well in the loss for Denver. Vontaze Burfict recorded 14 tackles.

Los Angeles, Ca:  Taylor Potts threw for 242 yards yards and 3 touchdowns as the Los Angeles Pharaohs defeated the San Antonio Gunslingers 30-24 before 29,111 at the Coliseum Saturday night.

Potts completed 25 of 35 passes on the night. Joseph Rodgers caught 8 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. Joseph Randell ran 12 times for 48 yards and Theo Riddick had a touchdown run. Julian Edleman also had a touchdown catch in the win for L.A.

Mike Reilly led San  Antonio completing 20 of 36 passes for 295 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 interceptions. DJ Harper ran 18 times for 84 yards. WEEK THIRTEEN: SUNDAY RESULTS

Pittsburgh, Pa:  LaRon Council ran for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 carries, as the New York Phantoms move to a league best 10-3 mark with a resounding 34-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Maulers before 22,000 at Heinz Field Sunday afternoon.

Tyrod Taylor threw for 133 yards and 1 interception, while completing 11 of 19 passes. SJ Green had 4 receptions for 47 yards and Brandon Lloyd had a touchdown reception. Devonte Holloman had a 48 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the win. Holloman also had 13 tackles.

Seth Doege completed 34 of 49 passes for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns with 3 interceptions to lead the Maulers. Danny Woodhead had 49 yards rushing on 13 carries, plus 10 receptions for 53 yards. Mark Mariani caught 9 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. Joseph Fauria had 6 catches for 51 yards and Russell Shepard had a touchdown reception in the loss.

Stoors, CT:  Colt Brennan completed 22 of 32 passes for 223 yards and 1 touchdown as the Hartford Sentinels ended their 3 game slide with a 14-10 victory over the Philadelphia Stars Sunday at Rentschler Field.

Miguel Maysonet had 78 rushing yards on 14 carries. Rico Richardson caught 4 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. Charles Scott had a rushing touchdown in the win.

Tajh Boyd threw for 265 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 interceptions. Terrance Edwards had 8 receptions for 103 yards and a score. Alfred Morris ran 13 times for 51 yards in the loss for the Stars.

Jacksonville, Fla:  Ryan Lindley completed 15 of 23 passes for 130 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Jacksonville Bulls defeated the Denver Miners 21-13. Andre Williams ran 20 times for 89 yards. Orson Charles caught 4 passes for 35 yards and 2 touchdowns. Doug Baldwin had a touchdown reception, caching 3 passes for 24 yards.

Chase Clement completed 19 of 34 passes for 199 yards and 1 touchdown. Clement also ran 7 times for 28 yards. Cole McKenzie had 7 catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. Giorgio Tavecchio connected on 2 field goals (50,26) in the loss for Denver.

Chicago, Ill:  Brandon Banks ran for a touchdown and Antonio Andrews ran for two more in leading the Shreveport Pirates to a 38-21 win over the sliding Chicago Stags at Soldier Field.

The win was costly for the Pirates as Banks left the game with a knee injury that could keep him out 4 weeks. Darian Durant threw for 212 yards and 1 touchdown, while completing 11 of 22 passes. Darius Johnson caught 2 passes for 94 yards, including a 83 yard touchdown reception. Ryan Phillips recorded 11 tackles.

JaMarcus Russell threw for 411 yards and 3 touchdowns, with 2 interceptions and 3 sacks. Stephon Jefferson had 19 carries for 56 yards. Aaron Mallette caught 7 passes for for 100 yards and a score. Juron Criner had 6 catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. Chad Johnson had a touchdown reception as the Stags drop their 6th straight game. Russell left the game with no comment and leaving his helmet on the Stag sidelines.

San Antonio, Tx:  Mike Reilly tossed a 78 yard touchdown pass to Nicholas Edwards 4:54 remaining in overtime as the San Antonio Gunslingers defeated the Memphis Hound Dogs 39-33.

Reilly threw for 465 yards and 2 touchdowns, while completing 31 of 42 passes. David Fluellen had 14 carries for 106 yards. Theo Riddick had 76 yards on 12 carries, including a 40 yard touchdown run. Nicholas Edwards caught 12 passes for 274 yards and a touchdown. Keshawn Martin had 7 receptions for 86 yards. Tim Crowder had a 50 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the win for San Antonio.

Ricky Ray completed 20 of 28 passes for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception. James White had 100 yards rushing on 23 carries. Colin Anderson had 7 receptions for 83 yards and 1 touchdown. Matt Hazel caught 6 passes for 70 yards and 1 touchdown. Trindon Holliday had a 59 yard punt return for a touchdown. Mike Herzlich recorded 13 tackles in the loss.

Baltimore, MD:  Jimmy Clausen hit Chris Williams from 5 yards out for a touchdown with 47 seconds remaining to lift the Carolina Swarm past the Baltimore Bombers 30-29 at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday evening.

Clausen finished completing 27 of 39 passes for 411 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tyler Gaffney had 85 yards and 1 touchdown on 18 carries. Chris Williams caught 7 passes for 122 yards and 1 touchdown in the win.

Keith Wenning threw for 236 yards and 1 touchdown before leaving with a sore hamstring. Scott Tolzien completed 9 of 11 passes for 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Anthony Allen ran for 70 yards on 19 carries. John White had a touchdown reception, while also running for 56 yards and a touchdown on 7 carries. Rico McCoy recorded 11 tackles in the loss.

Portland, Or:  Seneca Wallace threw for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns, while completing 15 of 29 passes as the Portland Dragons routed the Los Angeles Pharoahs 30-9.

Chris Polk ran 21 times for 73 yards and a touchdown. Jasper Collins had 3 receptions for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. Chad Jackson caught 4 passes for 48 yards and a score as Portland remains atop the Pacific Division.

Detroit, MI:  Aaron Murray threw for 350 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Michigan Panthers pounced on the Orlando Renegades in the form of a 35-14 victory before 31,581 at Ford Field in Detroit Saturday afternoon.

Murray completed 27 of 42 passes with 1 sack. Storm Johnson ran for 55 yards on 18 carries and 10 receptions for 81 yards and 1 touchdown. Andy Tanner caught 5 passes for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kyle Miller had 5 catches for 82 yards and 1 touchdown in the win.

Darrin Thomas got the start for Orlando, completing 17 of 32 passes for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns, with 2 sacks. Thomas led the Renegades in rushing, running for 34 yards on 5 carries. Lee Evans caught 7 passes for 109 yards. Dion Sims had 3 receptions for 70 yards and a score as the Renegades lose for the second consecutive time.

Kevin Smith ran for 110 yards and 1 touchdown on 27 carries. Marquess Wilson had 6 receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown. Dezmon Briscoe caught 6 passes for 95 yards, plus a touchdown run. Luke Wilson had a touchdown reception also in the win. Jonathan Fanene had a interception return for a touchdown for the Gamblers as well.

Bo Levi Mitchell led the Columbus attack , completing 15 of 22 passes for 233 yards and 4 touchdowns with 1 interception. Adrian N.Peterson had 82 yards rushing on 23 carries. Reggie Williams had 5 receptions for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jake Murphy caught 4 passes for 54 yards and a score and Dominique Croom also had a touchdown reception for Columbus in the loss.

Birmingham, AL:  Dan LeFevour threw for 283 yards and 3 touchdowns and the defense forced 4 Birmingham turnovers as the Virginia Tritons trounced the Birmingham Barracudas 45-19 at Legion Field Saturday afternoon.

LeFevour completed 17 of 24 passes and was sacked once. Kapri Bibbs ran 14 times for 57 yards. Tysson Poots had 4 receptions for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns before leaving the game with a sore knee. Danny Amendola caught 4 passes for 84 yards and Jeremy Shockey hauled in 4 passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Jimmie Ward recorded 2 interceptions, including a 24 harder for a touchdown. Virginia lost Kapri Bibbs for at least 2 games with an ankle injury.

Greg McElroy completed 22 of 33 passes for 280 yards with 3 interceptions and sacked twice. Nate Kimic had 14 rushes for 66 yards. Mike Sims Walker had 8 catches for 157 yards in the loss for the Barracudas.

Omaha, NB:  Drew Willy completed 16 of 24 passes for 322 yards and 1 touchdown in leading the Omaha Express to a 35-17 victory over the Dallas Wranglers.

Latavius Murray had 74 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. Brandon Kaufman had 4 receptions for 178 yards, including a 56 harder for a touchdown. Roy Roundtree caught 4 passes for 74 yards. Brynden Trawick had a 59 yard interception return for a touchdown for the Express in the win.

Tim Tebow threw for 201 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 interceptions and sacked twice for the Wranglers. George Winn ran 19 times for 73 yards and a touchdown. Quentin Sims had 8 receptions for 69 yards and a score in the loss.

Baltimore, MD :  Cooper Helfet had 6 receptions for 116 yards as the Baltimore Bombers defeated the Pittsburgh Maulers 27-13 before 19,010 at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Bombers quarterback Keith Wenning completed 9 of 10 passes for 118 yards and ran for a touchdown before leaving the game with a hand injury. Scott Tolzien finished the game completing 9 of 9 passes for 123 yards and 1 touchdown. Anthony Allen had 14 carries for 60 yards and Sean Whyte added 2 field Goals for the Bombers in the win. Patrick Edwards had a touchdown reception as  well.

Seth Doege threw for 152 yards and 2 interceptions. Doege finished completing 17 of 29 passes and sacked once.  Danny Woodhead had 17 carries for 103 yards and 1 touchdown, plus caught 7 passes for 67 yards . Mike Purcell had 13 tackles on defense in the loss for the Maulers who drop to 4-7.

Chicago, IL :  Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns while completing 14 of 22 passes as the Columbus Explorers slipped by the Chicago Stags 20-18 at Soldier Field.

Adrian N. Peterson had 93 yards on 26 carries. Reggie Williams caught 4 passes for 68 yards and 1 touchdown. Jake Murphy added a touchdown reception and Brett Baer connected on two field goals for Columbus  (7-4 ) in the win.

JaMarcus Russell who announced Saturday that he would not return next season, completed 26 of 39 passes for 378 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception. He also ran for a score and was sacked once. Stephon Jefferson ran for 54 yards on 18 carries. Chad Johnson caught 5 passes for 110 yards and 1 touchdown. Dennis Pitta had 8 receptions for 78 yards and Aaron Mallette caught 5 passes for 81 yards in the loss for the Stags who have now lost 5 straight.

(5-5) Houston -34    ( 2-9) Denver -21

Houston, TX :  Graham Harrell ripped the Denver secondary for 344 yards and 4 touchdowns while completing 28 of 33 passes in guiding the Houston Gamblers  (5-5) to a 34-21 win over the Denver Miners Sunday at NRG Stadium in Houston Sunday.

Kevin Smith ran for 57 yards on 17 carries. Dezmon Briscoe had 9 receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown. TJ Jones caught 6 passes for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns and Marquess Wilson added a touchdown reception in the win. Gamblers running back Zack Line left the game with a hamstring injury.

Chase Clement led Denver, completing 19 of 29 passes for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns with 3 interceptions. Clement also led the Miners in rushing with 66 yards on 11 carries. Virgil Green had 5 receptions for 69 yards and 1 touchdown. Travis Harvey caught 8 passes for 60 yards in the loss for Denver  (2-9). Kendall Gaskins also had a touchdown reception.

(3-8) Arizona - 26     ( 5-6) San Antonio -20

Glendale, Az : Vince Young threw for 299 yards and 2 touchdowns, plus ran 7 times for 47 yards as the Arizona Scorpions sting the San Antonio Gunslingers 26-20 at University of Phoenix stadium before 17,000 delighted fans.

Tiger Jones continues to be Young's favorite receiver, catching 6 passes for 119 yards. Eric Rogers caught 4 passes for 61 yards and a score and Andrew Quarles added a touchdown reception. Mike Hill ran 26 times for 92 yards in the win.

San Antonio quarterback Mike Reilly completed 13 of 26 passes for 222 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception. Reilly also ran 10 times for 54 yards. David Fluellen had 11 carries for 50 yards and DJ Harper added a rushing touchdown. Nicholas Edwards had 6 receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Lamin Barrow added 13 tackles on defense.

(6-5) Dallas - 30    ( 6-4-1) Shreveport -27 (OT)

Shreveport, La :  Grant Shaw booted a 38 yard game winning field goal with 12:12 remaining in overtime, to lift the Dallas Wranglers to a 30-27 victory over the Shreveport Pirates Sunday evening in Shreveport.

George Winn ran for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns on 21 carries to lead the Wranglers (6-5). Tim Tebow completed 14 of 22 passes for 169 yards, plus ran 6 times for 35 yards and sacked twice. Taimi Tutorial also added a score on the ground. Quentin Sims had 4 catches for 63 yards and Jack Doyle had 5 receptions for 54 yards. Grant Shaw connected on 3 field goals in the win for the Wranglers.

Darian Durant completed 20 of 32 passes for 293 yards and 1 touchdown. He was sacked twice. Antonio Andrews had 17 carries for 100 yards and a score. Brandon Banks had 5 receptions for 107 yards and 1 touchdown. Darius Johnson had 6 receptions for 95 yards in the loss for Shreveport.

(7-4) Portland - 34    (4-7) Las Vegas - 21

Las Vegas, NV : Seneca Wallace threw for 291 yards and 4 touchdowns, while completing 20 of 34 passes to lead the Portland Dragons over the Las Vegas Invaders at Sam Boyd stadium Sunday night.

Jerious Norwood ran for 103 yards and 1 touchdown on 20 carries. Jasper Collins caught 9 passes for 157 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win for the Dragons who improve to 7-4. Chad Jackson also had a touchdown reception for the Dragons.

Colby Cameron completed 18 of 26 passes for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions . He was sacked once.  Chris Polk ran for 71 yards on 18 carries. Damaris Johnson caught 5 passes for 65 yards and a score. Fred Stamps added a touchdown reception as the Invaders fall to 4-7 on the season.
