Big Easy Revival?

New Orleans, La.-  Jerry and Reggie Leboeuf, two businessmen from New Orleans announced this morning that they have applied for a Associated Football Franchises Of America 2020 expansion franchise.

The two men say they are looking to bring back a well known brand to the Crescent City, the Voodoo. The New Orleans Voodoo were a popular Arena Football League franchise that played for several seasons before disbanding in 2016.

" We are looking to secure Youlman Stadium on the campus of Tulane University. We applied for a franchise in 2015, but pulled the application after the then Shreveport Marauders moved here as the Nightmare. " said Jerry Leboeuf.

The proposed Voodoo franchise are the second Louisiana group to apply for a AFFA expansion franchise. A group from Shreveport, Louisiana is also looking to acquire expansion rights in 2020. The Shreveport group hopes to resurrect a former CFL franchise, the Shreveport Pirates.

The AFFA is currently in it's off season and preparing for the 2019 Spring season. League officials had no comment on the details of the applications for expansion in 2020.
