RUNNING OF THE BULLS!

Omaha, Nb;  The Omaha A.S.F.L franchise announced earlier this morning, that the team will now be known as the Omaha Bulls. The team formerly called the Omaha Express in it's inaugural season was officially granted permission for the change by unanimous vote of the league owners.

Omaha ranks second in the U.S. in cattle population and second in human-cattle ratio.

Omaha will be the second team to use the nickname Bulls in the league. The now Miami Sharks used the name Bulls while located in Jacksonville  after purchasing the rights to the name.  The Jacksonville Bulls were also a former United States Football League  team. When the Jacksonville team moved to Miami at the end of last season, the league reserved the rights to the Bulls brand.

EXPLORING NEW TERRITORY!

Columbus, Ohio:  The Columbus Explorers announced in a press conference earlier this morning, that the team has reached an agreement with Precourt Sports Ventures LLC on a four agreement that would allow the Explorers to play it's home games at Mapfre Stadium for four years beginning in 2017.

Mapfre Stadium is the primary home of the MLS Columbus Crew soccer team. It was opened in 1999 and has a capacity of 20,455, but can be expanded to 30,000. The turf is Kentucky Bluegrass.

The Explorers played their 2015 season at Ohio Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University. The Explorers drew large crowds and led the league in attendance. However unable to sell out left a lot of empty seats that didn't look well on television. The team was also paying a large amount for rent, so the financial benefit of moving was also a main focal point for the move.

" The Explorer organization is pleased to announce our move to Mapfre Stadium. It is a beautiful facility and we look forward to working with Precourt Sports Ventures. We hope it is a long and prosperous partnership." said a team spokesman outside team headquarters in Columbus.

The Explorers are the second ASFL team to switch venues as the New Orleans Nightmare recently announced their move from the Superdome to Yulman Stadium on the campus of Tulane University.

NIGHTMARE IN THE BIG EASY!

NIGHTMARE FIND A HOME!!

New Orleans, La;  The New Orleans Nightmare ( Formerly Shreveport Pirates) announced earlier today that they have signed a 4 year agreement with Tulane University to play at the new Yulman Stadium on the Tulane campus.

The Nightmare played as the Shreveport Pirates in 2015, winning the Mid South Division title and appearing in the Western Conference Championship. The then Pirates lost to eventual league champion Sacramento Crusaders 38-13.  A month later Independence Bowl officials announced they were terminating the lease agreement with the Pirates, forcing the team to make a move.

Owner Ben Guinn decided to keep the team in Louisiana and move to New Orleans instead of Little Rock Arkansas.   " Obviously we were very disappointed things didn't work out in Shreveport. We really wanted to stay and give North Louisiana football fans a professional team. " said Guinn.

A group from Arkansas made a strong case to have the team move to Little Rock, but Mr. Guinn decided to stay in the Bayou State.  " Let me tell you, it was a tempting offer especially since I am a diehard Razorback fan. But I was born and raised here in Louisiana and home is where the heart is. We are extremely excited to be hear in New Orleans and to play at a top notch stadium like Yulman Stadium." said Guinn.

The Nightmare are going to be a tough sell, but are going all out in a big marketing push in a state that love it's Saints and fanatics about football,

TRITONS SOLD!

Norfolk, Va:  The A.F.F.A Virginia Tritons football franchise has been sold to a group from Kentucky, headed by businessman Gary Lossler. Reports indicate that Lossler purchased the franchise for around 27 million dollars, though that figure has not been confirmed.

The previous ownership had planned on folding the franchise after owners voted to postpone the 2016 season for league restructuring. A spokeswoman for the group said it was a decision that had been discussed shortly after the end of the 2015 season. All team office personnel have been informed.

The new ownership group headed by Lossler have made it clear that it is their intention to move the franchise to Louisville, Ky.  Lossler stated that the group has reached a multi -year deal with Louisville officials and will call Papa John's Stadium home.

The sell is pending approval from league owners who meet later this month in Las Vegas. The owners are also expected to vote on and approve the Baltimore Bombers request to relocate to Washington DC.
