WEEK TWELVE : SATURDAY'S RESULTS


(7-4) Carolina - 33    (6-5) Jacksonville -21

Raleigh, NC :  Jimmy Clausen threw for 364 yards and 1 touchdown as the Carolina Swarm defeated the Jacksonville Bulls 33-21 before 20,118 at Carter-Finley stadium Saturday afternoon.

Clausen finished the day completing 26 of 33 passes and sacked twice. Tyler Gaffney had 86 yards rushing on 17 carries and 1 touchdown. Tim Wright had 7 catches for 76 yards. Devin Street caught 6 passes for 77 yards and Chris Williams pulled in 4 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown. Onterio McCalebb added 2 rushing touchdowns in the win. Josh Hull contributed on defense with 2 sacks. 

Ryan Lindley completed 21 of 37 passes for 255 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception for the Bulls. Andre Williams ran 15 times for 66 yards. Connor Vernon had 7 receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown. Orson Charles caught 5 passes for 61 yards and a score. Henry Hynoski also had a touchdown reception in the loss for Jacksonville. 

(5-5-1) Michigan - 34    (3-8) Omaha - 20

Detroit, Mi : Khiry Robinson ran for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries in leading the Michigan Panthers  (5-5-1) past the Omaha Express 34-20 Saturday at Ford Field. Robinson also had 3 receptions for 51 yards. 

Panthers quarterback Aaron Murray completed 20 of 27 passes for 279 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception. Kyle Miller had 5 catches for 75 yards and a touchdown. Antavious Wilson caught 4 passes for 57 yards and a score. Andy Tanner had 4 receptions for 60 yards in the win. Brynden Trawick had 11 tackles in the win. 

Drew Willy threw for 394 yards and 1 touchdown while completing 26 of 41 passes and sacked once.  Latavius Murray ran 16 times for 68 yards and 1 touchdown. Roy Roundtree hauled in 10 catches for 156 yards and 1 touchdown in the loss for Omaha. 

(5-6) Virginia - 31    (7-4) Orlando - 10

Norfolk, Va :  Bacarri Rambo had two picks, one he took 38 yards to the house as the Virginia Tritons blitzed the Orlando Renegades 31-10 at William D. Price Stadium Saturday. 

Dan LeFevour completed 17 of 27 passes for 146 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception, he was sacked once.  Danny Amendola caught 7 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. Kapri Bibbs had 75 rushing yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns as the Tritons improve to 5-6 on the season. 

Tyler Bray had a rough go being harassed much of the evening by an aggressive Triton defense. Bray completed 17 of 39 passes for 235 yards and 4 interceptions. He was sacked 5 times. Steven Miller ran 9 times for 33 yards and 1 touchdown. Miller also had 6 receptions for 82 yards. Kenjon Barner was limited to 19 yards on 5 carries. Orlando also lost Kellen Winslow to injury. Winslow was added to the injury list after the game with an ankle injury. 

(4-8) Utah - 26    (7-5) Hartford - 20  (OT)

Storrs, Ct :  Ryan Alpine hit Cody Wilson on a 48 yard scoring strike with 2:57 remaining in overtime as the Utah Mammoths stun the Hartford Sentinels 26-20 at Rentschler Field Saturday night. 

Alpine completed 27 of 37 passes for 307 yards and 3 touchdowns. Alpine was also sacked 4 times.  Marion Grice  had 62 rushing yards on 18 carries and 10 receptions for 116 yards. Cody Wilson had 7 catches for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Mammoths who improve to 4-8 on the season. Stephen Tulloch had 15 tackles on defense. 

Colt Brennan threw for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns with 2 interceptions.  Brennan completed 20 of 30 passes before leaving the game with an arm injury.  Miguel Maysonet ran 17 times for 125 yards. Rico Richardson had 7 catches for 133 yards. Lucas Reed caught 6 passes for 71 yards and a score as the Sentinels lose their 3rd straight.

(5-6) Los Angeles - 41    ( 6-5) Sacramento - 23

Los Angeles, CA :  Taylor Potts completed 22 of 30 passes for 223 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Los Angeles Pharaohs defeated the Sacramento Crusaders 41-23 Saturday night at the Coliseum. The Pharaohs sweep both games against the Crusaders for the season. 

Jamaal Charles ran for 133 yards on 23 carries and 1 touchdown. Brandon Saine ran 4 times for 95 yards, plus caught 5 passes for 30 yards and a score. Lusaka Polite also had a touchdown reception in the win for the Pharaohs  (5-6). Cody Hoffman had 7 receptions for 89 yards and a score .

Sacramento was led by quarterback Ryan Nassib who completed 21 of 28 passes for 318 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception. KA'Deem Carey ran 9 times for 36 yards. Cordell Roberson caught 5 passes for 76 yards . TJ Houshmandzadeh had 5 catches for 51 yards and 1 touchdown. Jovone Lawson contributed with 5 catches for 97 yards. Jordan Lynch tossed a late touchdown to finish the night.

West Point, NY:  Tyrod Taylor started  in relief of an injured Case Keenum  (shoulder ) and the Phantoms didn't skip a beat, defeating the Philadelphia Stars 38-14 before a near sell out crowd at Michie Stadium Friday night.

Taylor completed 13 of 17 passes for 223 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Phantoms improve to 9-3 on the season.  LaRon Council ran 17 times for 77 yards and 1 touchdown, plus a touchdown reception. Kealoha Pilares caught 8 passes for 112 yards. Brandon Lloyd had 5 receptions for 119 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.

Terrance Owens threw for 238 yards and 1 touchdown, completing 18 of 27 passes, plus led the Stars in rushing, running for 35 yards on 9 carries.  Robbie Rouse ran 10 times for 25 yards, plus 4 receptions for 30 yards before going down with an apparent knee injury. Jacob Peterson caught 4 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown. Quincy McDuffie had a 81 yard kick return for a touchdown in the loss for the Stars, who fall to 5-6.

WEEK ELEVEN : SUNDAY'S RESULTS


 (6-4) Portland - 45     ( 5-5) San Antonio - 31

San Antonio, TX :  Brian Brohm threw for 4 touchdowns, while completing 18 of 25 passes for 240 yards in leading the Portland Dragons to a 45-31 victory over the San Antonio Gunslingers at the Alamodome Sunday afternoon.

Chris Polk ran for 44 yards on 12 carries. Chad Jackson caught 10 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown. Jasper Collins had 3 receptions for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns. Andrew Harris and Rob Blanchflower each had touchdown receptions as well. Seneca Wallace came in late, completing 8 of 8 passes for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns as Brohm went down with an injury.

Mike Reilly completed 24 of 37 passes for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception for the Gunslingers.  David Fluellen rushed for 78 yards on 15 carries. Matt Furstenberg caught 8 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Nicholas Edwards and Niles Paul each had touchdown receptions in the loss for San Antonio.

(6-4) Jacksonville Bulls -27    (4-6) Los Angeles - 10

Jacksonville, FL :   Ryan Lindley completed 20 of 28 passes for 269 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Jacksonville Bulls defeated the Los Angeles Pharaohs 27-10 at Alltell Stadium Sunday before 29,488.

Andre Williams ran for 78 yards on 23 carries. Chase Coffman caught 4 passes for 86 yards and 1 touchdown. Connor Vernon had 4 receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown and Doug Baldwin had 4 receptions for 75 yards and a score for the Bulls.

Los Angeles was led by Taylor Potts, who threw for 214 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 interceptions. Jamaal Charles ran 9 times for 46 yards. Cody Hoffman caught 4 passes for 86 yards and Ryan Otten had 2 receptions for 45 yards and a score in the loss for San Antonio.

(4-5-1) Michigan -29   (2-8) Arizona - 27

Detroit, Mi :  Arizona missed on a two point conversion with 23 seconds remaining,  and Michigan held on for a 29 -27 victory over the Arizona Scorpions Sunday afternoon at Ford Field.

Aaron Murray completed 19 of 23 passes for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception.  Khiry Robinson had 89 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries. Andy Tanner had 5 receptions for 82 yards and 1 touchdown. Kyle Miller caught 5 passes for 102 yards and a score for the Panthers.

Vince Young threw for 395 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception, plus rushed for 77 yards and 1 touchdown on 11 carries.  Michael Hill ran 19 times for 54 yards and a score. Tiger Jones had 10 receptions for 141 yards and 1 touchdown for the Scorpions.

(6-3-1) Shreveport Pirates - 21    (5-5) Philadelphia - 17

Shreveport, La :  Darian Durant continues to make his claim on league MVP title,  completing 15 of 24 passes for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns in leading the Shreveport Pirates to a 21-17 victory over the Philadelphia Stars Sunday evening at Duck Commander Field in Shreveport.

Antonio Andrews rushed for 53 yards on 9 carries. Brandon Banks caught 5 passes for 53 yards. DJ Williams had 4 receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown in the win for the Pirates who improve to 6-3-1.

Terrance Owens threw for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception, while completing 15 of 24 passes to lead the Stars. Robbie Rouse ran 13 times for 54 yards. Brandon Stokely had 3 receptions for 66 yards and 1 touchdown. Kenny Stills also had a touchdown reception in the loss for the Scorpions.

(5-5) Baltimore - 21     (3-7) Omaha- 17

Omaha, Nb :  Taylor Reed recorded two interceptions as the Baltimore Bombers  (5-5) defeated the Omaha Express 21-17 before 18,000 fans at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha Sunday evening.

Keith Wenning completed 11 of 20 passes for 126 passes and 3 touchdowns. He was sacked twice.  Rajion Neal ran 19 times for 60 yards. Patrick Edwards had 3 receptions for 27 yards. John White caught 2 passes, both went for touchdowns. Nik Lewis also had a touchdown reception.

Drew Willy completed 24 of 35 passes for 274 yards and 2 touchdowns,  while also being sacked twice.  Latavius Murray had 83 yards rushing on 15 carries.  Brandon Kaufman caught 8 passes for 92 yards. Roy Roundtree caught 6 passes for 96 yards and 1 touchdown. Gator Hoskins had a touchdown reception as the Express fall to 3-7.

(2-8) Denver - 26     (3-8) Utah - 7

Denver, CO :  Chase Clement completed 18 of 22 passes for 243 yards as the Denver Miners thrilled a crowd of 24,988, winning their second game of the year defeating the Utah Mammoths 26 -7 Sunday night at Mile High. Clement was sacked 3 times.

Derrick Ross ran for 2 touchdowns while rushing for 51 yards on 9 carries. Marvin McNutt caught 4 passes for 79 yards. Cole McKenzie caught 4 passes for 57 yards and Giorgio Taveecchio connected on 4 field goals in the win for the Miners.

Ryan Alpine led the Mammoths, throwing for 243 yards and 1 interception while completing 21 of 28 passes and sacked once. Alpine also led the Mammoths in rushing, running 12 times for 65 yards. Marion Grice ran 6 times for 25 yards and caught 6 passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.

(6-4) Columbus - 27    (5-5) Dallas - 19

Dallas, TX :  Bo Levi Mitchell  completed 18 of 29 passes for 252 yards and 3 touchdowns,  guiding the Columbus Explorers to a 27-19 victory over Tim Tebow and the Dallas Wranglers Sunday night at the Cotton Bowl before a crowd of 31,510.

Adrian N. Peterson ran 27 times for 88 yards. Mark Clayton caught 5 passes for 75 yards and Jake Murphy had 4 receptions for 36 yards and 2 touchdowns. Reggie Williams had 3 receptions for 80 yards and a score as the Explorers move to 6-4.

Tim Tebow seems to have found his niche in the ASFL, something he was unable to find in the NFL.  Tebow threw for 342 yards and 2 touchdowns, while completing 31 of 43 passes. He also rushed for 32 yards on 6 carries.  George Winn ran 13 times for 35 yards.  Adrian Bowman caught 11 passes for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Wranglers fall to 5-5.

WEEK ELEVEN : SATURDAY'S RESULTS


(7-3) Orlando -41   (5-5) Chicago - 26

Chicago, IL :  Tyler Bray threw for 290 yards and 2 touchdowns, while completing 16 of 32 passes as the Orlando Renegades rolled to a 41-26 victory over the Chicago Stags at Soldier Field Saturday afternoon.

Kenjon Barner ran for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries.  Lee Evans had 5 catches for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kellen Winslow caught 5 passes for 68 yards as the Renegades improve to 7-3 on the season. Larry Grant had 11 tackles as well.

JaMarcus Russell led the Stags, throwing for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception, while completing 17 of 31 passes. Russell also ran for 45 yards on 11 carries. Stephon Jefferson ran 18 times for 33 yards, plus 5 receptions for 43 yards. Chad Johnson and Juron Criner each had a touchdown reception as well. The Stags slip to 5-5 on the season.

( 6-4) Sacramento -41   (6-4) Carolina - 14

Raleigh, NC :  Ryan Nassib completed 17 of 23 passes for 354 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception in leading the Sacramento Crusaders to a 41-14 victory over the Carolina Swarm before 25,000 at Carter-Finley stadium Saturday.

Randy Moss was in top form, catching 6 passes for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns  ( 12, 60). TJ Houshmandzadeh had 4 catches for 43 yards. Jerodis Williams rushed for 41 yards and 1 touchdown on 8 carries.  Kaderius Lacey had 11 carries for 20 yards in the win for the Crusaders.

Jimmy Clausen completed 17 of 23 passes for 160 yards and 1 interception for the Swarm. Tyler Gaffney ran 9 times for 57 yards and a score. Brandon Coleman caught 5 passes for 55 yards as the Swarm slip to 6-4 on the season. Tyrone Brackenridge had a 61 yard interception return for a score.

( 8-3) New York - 27   ( 4-5 ) Houston -24

New York, NY :  Case Keenum threw for 233 yards and 3 touchdowns, while completing 23 of 28 passes as the New York Phantoms ( 8-3) defeated the Houston Gamblers 27-24 at Michie stadium Saturday evening.

LaRon Council  rushed for 84 yards on 18 carries,  plus had 5 catches for 32 yards and a touchdown. SJ Green caught 7 passes for 78 yards.  Kealoha Pilares had 4 catches for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Brandon Lloyd also had a touchdown reception in the win. Andre Hall contributed with 12 tackles.

Dalton Williams completed 25 of 46 passes for 316 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception for Houston.  Kevin Smith had 130 yards rushing on 16 carries. TJ Jones had 7 catches for 93 yards and a score. Dezmon Briscoe had 7 receptions for 75 yards as the Gamblers fall to 4-5 on the season.

(6-4)  Memphis -38   ( 4-6) Virginia - 17

Memphis, Tn :  James White rushed for 157 yards and 1 touchdown, plus a touchdown reception  as the Memphis Hound Dogs  defeated the Virginia Tritons 38 -17 at the Liberty Bowl Saturday night.

Austin Collie caught 6 passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. Hound Dog quarterback Ricky Ray completed 23 of 27 passes for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception. DJ Moore had 10 tackles as Memphis moves to 6-4.

Josh McCown completed 19 of 33 passes for 257 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions for the Tritons  ( 4-6 ). Kapri Bibbs had 9 carries for 59 yards. Weston Dressler caught 4 passes for 83 yards. Lance Moore had a touchdown reception in the loss.

( 7-3 ) Birmingham - 34    (7-4) Hartford - 10

Birmingham, AL :   Nate Kimic ran for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 carries,  plus had 3 receptions for 104 yards as the Birmingham Barracudas defeated the Hartford Sentinels 34-10 at Legion Field Friday night.

Greg McElroy completed 14 of 16 passes for 252 yards and 1 touchdown for Birmingham,  who improve to 7-3 on the season. Dennis Morris had 3 receptions for 46 yards and 1 touchdown.  Mike Sims Walker had 3 receptions for 40 yards and Jeff Maehl caught 3 passes for 36 yards in the win.  Brian Jackson recorded 11 tackles .

Colt Brennan completed 23 of 35 passes for 217 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception for the Sentinels. Miguel Maysonet ran 5 times for 41 yards. Rico Richardson had 5 catches for 57 yards and a score as the Sentinels drop their second straight, falling to 7-4 on the season.

WEEK TEN: SUNDAY'S RESULTS


( 5-4 ) San Antonio - 36     ( 4-5 ) Virginia - 16 

San Antonio, TX :  Mike Reilly threw for 345 yards and 3 touchdowns with 2 interceptions, while completing 26 of 37 passes to lead the San Antonio Gunslingers past the Virginia Tritons 36-16 at the Alamodome Sunday afternoon.

David Fluellen ran for 120 yards on 27 carries and Lennon Creer had 21 carries for 103 yards. Nicholas Edwards caught 9 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. Todd Heap and Niles Paul each had touchdown receptions for the Gunslingers who stay atop the Frontier Division at 5-4.

Josh McCown completed only 14 of 36 passes for 95 yards and 1 interception for the Tritons who fall to 4-5 on the season.  McCown also had 33 yards rushing on 12 carries. Lawrence Vickers ran for 28 yards and 1 touchdown in the loss. The Tritons were held to only 170 yards total offense.


( 7-3 ) New York - 34   ( 1-8) Denver - 33

Denver, CO :  Case Keenum found Brandon Lloyd in the end zone with 37 seconds remaining to lift the New York Phantoms to a hard fought 34-33 victory over the Denver Miners Sunday night at Invesco Field at Mile High.

Keenum completed 22 of 29 passes for 325 yards and 3 touchdowns. Brandon Lloyd had 7 catches for 178 yards and a touchdown. Josh Hill caught 7 passes for 63 yards and a score. SJ Green chipped in with 5 catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. LaRon Council rushed for 47 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown for the Phantoms who move to 7-3 on the season.

Brandon Whitaker added a touchdown run as well. Travis Harvey had a big day catching 8 passes for 162 yards, but didn't get into the end zone. Virgil Green caught 5 passes for 46 yards and a score.

WEEK TEN: SATURDAY'S RESULTS


( 5-4 ) Dallas - 31   (4-6) Pittsburgh - 21

Pittsburgh, PA :  Tim Tebow threw for 4 touchdowns, while completing 24 of 25 passes for 278 yards as the Dallas Wranglers  (5-4) knocked off the Pittsburgh Maulers 31-21 before 22,000 at Heinz Field Saturday afternoon.

George Winn had 57 yards on 11 carries. Tyler Varga ran 12 times for 35 yards before going down with am injury. Jarrett Dillard caught 7 passes for 95 yards. Quentin Sims had 5 receptions for 41 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Wranglers.

Seth Doege returned to action for the Maulers, completing 29 of 49 passes for 263 yards and 1 interception.  Danny Woodhead had 15 carries for 39 yards and 2 touchdowns, plus had 8 receptions for 55 yards.  Mark Mariani caught 8 passes for 91 yards. The Maulers fall to 4-6 with the loss.

( 5-3-1) Shreveport - 21   ( 7-3) Hartford - 17

Shreveport, La :  Darian Durant completed 22 of 33 passes for 247 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception as the Shreveport Pirates take down the Hartford Sentinels 21-17 at Duck Commander Field Saturday evening.

Antonio Andrews ran 10 times for 57 yards. Lamar Miller had 5 carries for 22 yards and a touchdown. Brandon Banks caught 7 passes for 115 yards and a score. Cobi Hamilton also had a touchdown reception to lead the Pirates  ( 5-3-1).

Hartford quarterback Colt Brennan threw for 157 yards and 1 touchdown, while completing 14 of 26 passes. Charles Scott had 9 carries for 45 yards and Miguel Maysonet added a touchdown run.  Rico Richardson caught 3 passes for 24 yards and 1 touchdown. Antonio Brown hauled in 5 passes for 59 yards for the Sentinels.

( 4-4 ) Houston - 37     ( 4-6) Las Vegas - 19

Las Vegas, NV :  Dalton Williams completed 19 of 27 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown as the Houston Gamblers blasted the Las Vegas Invaders 37-19 before a crowd of 17,211 at Sam Boyd stadium Saturday night.

Kevin Smith ran for 97 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown as the Gamblers move to 4-4 on the season.  Dezmon Briscoe had 6 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. Shawn Alston and Zach Line each had touchdown runs. William Gholston recorded a 76 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the win.

Colby Cameron led the Invaders, throwing for 196 yards and 1 interception, while completing 19 of 31 passes.  Jerious Norwood had 14 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown. Darrin Reaves also added a score from the ground. Damaris Johnson had 5 catches for 78 yards in the loss for the Invaders.  Las Vegas falls to 4-6.

Chicago, IL :  Tim Tebow hit Adarius Bowman from 20 yards out with :41 left in regulation, to give the Dallas Wranglers ( 4-4 ) a 27-24 victory over the Chicago Stags Saturday afternoon at Soldier Field. 

 Tebow finished completing 12 of 23 passes for 228 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also rushing 7 times for 34 yards.  Tyler Varga had 17 carries for 82 yards. Adarius Bowman caught 3 passes for 63 yards and 2 touchdowns. Quentin Sims had 5 catches for 113 yards and a score for the Wranglers. 

Chicago was led by JaMarcus Russell who completed 21 of 28 passes for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception. Stephon Jefferson ran for 55 yards on 18 carries. Aaron Mallette had 9 receptions for 123 yards.  Dennis Pitta caught 7 passes for 103 yards and 2 scores in the loss for Chicago.

Tyler Gaffney ran for 127 yards on 25 carries. Jerome Messum added a rushing touchdown , running for 14 yards on 5 carries . Ryan Balentine had 5 receptions for 59 yards. Tim Wright had 4 catches for 49 yards and Brandon Coleman added a touchdown reception for the Swarm.

Colt Brennan threw for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions, while completing 17 of 32 passes Lucas Reed  had 5 receptions for 63 yards and 1 touchdown. Rico Richardson caught 4 passes for 84 yards and 1 touchdown as the Sentinels improve to a league best 7-2 mark.

Kolton Browning completed 13 of 36 passes for 157 passes and 2 interceptions. Browning also fumbled 4 times. Danny Woodhead had 35 yards on 9 carries. Josh Boyce caught 3 passes for 62 yards and Joseph Fauria had 4 receptions for 44 yards for the Maulers who fall to 4-5.

Columbus, OH;  Greg McElroy completed 19 of 25 passes for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Birmingham Barracudas defeated the Columbus Explorers 34-29 before 37,441 at Ohio stadium Sunday. 

Nate Kimic ran for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries. Jeff Maehl had 9 receptions for 182 yards and a touchdown Chris Obonnaya added a rushing touchdown and a touchdown reception for the Barracudas 6-3.

Bo Levi Mitchell led Columbus, completing 31 of 43 passes for 363 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception. Adrian N. Peterson had 81 yards and 1 touchdown on 20 carries. Reggie Williams caught 8 passes for 110 yards and 1 touchdown. Dominique Croom and Mark Clayton each had touchdown receptions as well for the Explorers who drop to 5-4 on the season.

Philadelphia, PA :  Robbie Rouse ran for 138 yards and 1 touchdown, plus 5 receptions for 69 yards,  as the Philadelphia Stars rolled by the San Antonio Gunslingers 21-7 before 22,100 at Franklin Field Sunday.

Stars quarterback Tajh Boyd completed 18 of 25 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown. Alfred Morris had 8 catches for 34 yards and a score, plus a two point conversion for the Stars who move to 5-4 on the season.

Mike Reilly threw for 100 yards and an interception while completing 10 of 22 passes for the Gunslingers. David Fluellen had 11 carries for 60 yards. Lennon Creer chipped in with 47 yards on 6 carries.  AJ Bouye had a 48 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the loss. The Gunslingers drop to 4-4 on the season.

Sacramento, CA;  Graham Harrell threw for 228 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception while completing 17 of 22 passes  in leading the Houston Gamblers to a 27 -16 victory over the Sacramento Crusaders at Hornet Field Sunday evening.

Kevin Smith ran 17 times for 89 yards . Luke Wilson caught 6 passes for 49 yards. Adrian Arrington had 3 receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown for the Gamblers who improve to 3-4 on the season.

Ryan Nassib connected on 15 of 21 passes for 201 yards and a interception to lead the Crusaders. Kaderius Lacey had 31 yards rushing on 8 carries. TJ Houshmandzadeh had 4 receptions for 51 yards. Geoff Tisdale had a 67 yard interception return for a touchdown as the Crusaders drop to 5-4 on the year.

Shreveport, La :  History was made Saturday as the Shreveport Pirates and the Michigan Panthers played to a 24-24 tie, making it the first tie in the short history of the American Spring Football League. 

Khiry Robinson ran for 107 yards 1 touchdown on 18 carries, plus had a touchdown reception for the visiting Panthers.  Jeremy Gallon had 3 catches for 52 yards and a score. Kyle Miller chipped in with 5 catches for 48 yards. Aaron Murray completed 14 of 26 passes for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception 

The Pirates were led by quarterback Darian Durant who completed 25 of 40 passes for 290 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception.  Antonio Andrews had 17 carries for 96 yards and 1 touchdown.  Brandon Banks caught 5 passes for 110 yards.  Cobi Hamilton had 7 catches for 70 yards and a touchdown.  Announced Attendance : 21,010

Chase Coffman caught 9 passes for 92 yards and Cole Beasley had 6 catches for 100 yards. Antonio Brown hauled in 4 passes for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Sentinels. Charles Scott had 17 carries for 104 yards and 1 touchdown. Quarterback Colt Brennan tossed 2 touchdowns with 1 interception while completing 15 of 22 passes for 276 yards. Triston Okpalaugo had a 52 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the win.

Portland quarterback Brian Brohm threw for 397 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions to lead the Dragons. Andrew Harris had only 9 rushes for 59 yards and 1 touchdown. Mike Davis caught 7 passes for 90 yards. Desmond Washington had a 89 yard kick return for a touchdown.

SATURDAY'S RESULTS : WEEK EIGHT

( 5-3 ) Jacksonville -28   ( 5-3 ) Birmingham -3

Birmingham, AL :   John Skelton completed 21 of 38 passes for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Jacksonville Bulls  (5-3) trampled the Birmingham Barracudas 28-3 at Legion Field in Birmingham Saturday afternoon.

Andre Williams ran 21 times for 71 yards and a touchdown. Chase Coffman had 9 receptions for 102 yards and a score. Cole Beasley added 5 catches for 78 yards and a score for the Bulls. Dominique Franks had a 27 yard interception return for a score as well.

Birmingham quarterback Greg McElroy completed 17 of 34 passes for 186 yards, but threw 4 interceptions in the loss for Birmingham.

(4-4) Virginia -34   ( 2-6) Omaha - 28

Norfolk, Va:  Kapri Bibbs ran for 3 touchdowns while amassing 147 yards on 29 carries, leading the Virginia Tritons past the Omaha Express  34-28 before 23,500 at William D. Price Stadium.

Triton quarterback Dan LeFevour completed 19 of 27 passes for 180 yards, plus ran 11 times for 47 yards and a touchdown. Danny Amendola had 6 catches for 78 yards as the Tritons improve to 4-4 on the year.

Omaha was led by quarterback Zach Collaros who completed 21 of 40 passes for 220 yards and 1 touchdown with 3 interceptions. Latavius Murray had 100 yards rushing on 21 carries and 1 touchdown. Brandon Kaufman had 5 catches for 55 yards and Gator Hoskins 5 receptions for 51 yards and a score for Omaha.  The Express fall to 2-6 on the year.

(4-4) Philadelphia - 24   (2-4) Houston -20

Houston, TX;   Terrance Edwards pulled in 8 catches for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns, to lead the Philadelphia Stars  (4-4) past the Houston Gamblers at NRG Stadium in Houston Saturday.

Tajh Boyd completed 19 of 28 passes for 288 yards and 3 touchdowns with 2 interceptions for the Stars who have won two straight. Robbie Rouse had 15 carries for 61 yards, plus a touchdown reception.

Houston was led by quarterback Dalton Williams, who completed 20 of 31 passes for 249 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception. Dezmon Briscoe had 6 catches for 107 yards and 1 touchdown. Marquess Wilson caught 8 passes for 97 yards. Kevin Smith ran 15 times for 70 yards  for the Gamblers.

(5-3) Memphis -23    ( 5-3 ) New York - 20

New York, NY;   Austin Collie had a career day,  catching 8 passes for 222 yards and 1 touchdown, leading the Memphis Hound Dogs to their third consecutive victory topping the New York Phantoms 23-20 at Michie Stadium.

Javon Ringer ran 26 times for 114 yards. Quarterback Ricky Ray threw for 352 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception while completing 18 of 36 passes. Dominique Whaley had a touchdown on the ground.

New York quarterback Case Keenum connected on 22 of 31 passes for 213 yards and 1 touchdown. Tyrod Taylor threw a touchdown late in relief. LaRon Council ran for 108 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown. Josh Hill caught 6 passes for 77 yards and a score for New York who fall to 5-3.

( 4-4) Baltimore - 33   ( 1-6 ) Denver - 23 

Denver, CO;  Scott Tolzien threw for 280 yards and 3 touchdowns while completing 22 of 27 passes as the Baltimore Bombers ( 4-4 ) defeated the Denver Miners 33 -23, before 26,000 at Invesco Field Saturday evening.

Patrick Edwards caught 4 passes for 104 yards and 1 touchdown. Nik Lewis had 6 receptions for 76 yards and a score. Tony Scheffler chipped in with 6 catches for 41 yards.  Sean White had 10 carries for 58 yards and 1 touchdown. Rajion Neal ran 17 times for 55 yards in the win for the Bombers.

Chase Clement completed 24 of 41 passes for 254 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception, plus ran 12 times for 67 yards. Nate Eachus had 9 carries for 54 yards. Cole McKenzie had 7 catches for 116 yards and a score for the Miners.

(5-3) Sacramento - 34    ( 5-3 ) Columbus -24

Sacramento, CA;   Ryan Nassib completed 14 of 19 passes for 281 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Sacramento Crusaders ( 5-3 ) past the Columbus Explorers 34-24 at Hornet Stadium Saturday night.

Randy Moss had his best game of the year, catching  4 passes for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cordell Roberson had 4 catches for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kaderius Lacey ran for 76 yards on 15 carries for the Crusaders.

Bo Levi Mitchell completed 20 of 36 passes for 302 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception to lead the Explorers. Jaquizz Rodgers had 59 yards on 20 carries with 2 touchdowns,  plus a touchdown reception. Da'Rick Rogers had 8 catches for 127 yards in the loss for Columbus.

FRIDAY NIGHT RESULTS: GUNSLINGERS STUFF STAGS!

( 4-3 ) San Antonio- 28   ( 5-3 ) Chicago- 9

Chicago, Ill:  Mike Reilly completed only 9 of 15 passes, two of which went for touchdowns as the San Antonio Gunslingers thumped the Chicago Stags 28-9 at Soldier Field Friday night.

David Fluellen ran 13 times for 52 yards and a touchdown. Nicholas Edwards caught 4 passes for 75 yards and a touchdown. Antonio Bryant caught 2 passes for 91 yards and a score. Lennon Creer added a touchdown on the ground also in the win.

JaMarcus Russell led Chicago, completing 21 of 30 passes for 231 yards and 1 touchdown. Russell also fumbled twice. Stephon Jefferson had 68 yards on 16 carries. Dorin Dickerson had 7 catches for 74 yards. Chad Johnson grabbed 5 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown for the Stags.
