A.F.F.A WEEK SEVENTEEN SUNDAY RESULTS



( 14-2 ) Chicago Stags- 38  ( 8-8 ) Columbus Aviators- 28

Columbus, Ohio:  Josh Robinson rushed for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns on 25 carries as the Chicago Stags defeated the Columbus Aviators 38-28 at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus Sunday.

Brandon Doughty completed 14 of 20 passing for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns with 3 sacks. Alfred Morris ran 9 times for 73 yards. Willie Snead caught 4 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown. Roger Lewis had 3 receptions for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns .

Kris Frost recorded 8 tackles, 2 sacks and a pass deflection. Jelani Jenkins had 6 tackles, a sack and a pass deflection. Leshaun Sims had 5 tackles and a interception. Donte Paige had 3 tackles and 2 sacks as the Stags moved to 14-2.

Chuckie Keeton completed 20 of 33 passing for 247 yards and a touchdown with 1 interception and sacked 5 times. He also led the Aviators in rushing with 53 yards on 7 carries. Austin Franklin caught 8 passes for 152 yards. Jared Abbrederis had 6 catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. Tommy Frevert went 4 for 4 on field goal attempts with a long of 49 yards.

Phillip Stevens had 11 tackles. Deion Belue recorded 7 tackles, 1 pass deflection and a stuff. Dean Lowery had 4 tackles, a sack and 2 stuffs. Khalil Bass and Eric Martin also recorded a sack as the Aviators were officially eliminated from playoff contention with the loss and finished at 8-8.

( 3-13 ) St. Louis Scouts- 20  ( 6-10 ) Michigan Panthers- 17

Detroit, Michigan:  Robert Griffin III threw for 287 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception on 18 of 27 passing as the St. Louis Scouts defeated the Michigan Panthers 20-17 before 26,209 at Ford Field Sunday afternoon.

RG3 also ran 11 times for 40 yards. Isaiah Crowell ran 13 times for only 22 yards. Andy Jones had 6 receptions for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mike Campanaro caught 5 passes for 99 yards.

Steve Longa had 7 tackles and a sack for the defense. Thomas Decoud had 6 tackles and 2 pass deflections. Cleyon Laing recorded 4 tackles, 3 pass deflections, 2 stuffs and 2 hurries. Maurice Leggett had 4 tackles and a 46 yard interception return for the Scouts 3-13.

Panthers quarterback Cody Kessler completed 21 of 32 passing for 277 yards and a touchdown with 2 interceptions and was sacked 3 times. Paul Perkins ran 12 times for 56 yards and a touchdown. Albert Wilson had 5 receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown. Darrin Pete caught 5 passes for 58 yards. Fred Bennett,  Keenan Robinson and Will Compton all recorded 6 tackles as the Panthers finish the year at 6-10.

( 12-4 ) Louisville Thoroughbreds- 34  ( 8-8 ) Miami Sharks- 32

Miami, Florida: Bo Levi Mitchell completed 31 of 42 passes for 385 yards and 4 touchdowns with 1 interception and sacked once, as the Louisville Thoroughbreds claimed the # 2 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 34-32 victory over the Miami Sharks before a near capacity crowd at FIU Stadium in Miami.

Ray Rice ran 14 times for 72 yards, plus caught 11 passes for 68 yards. Ryan Spadola had 7 receptions for 126 yards and 3 touchdowns . Corey Grant had 3 catches for 18 yards and a score.

Tyre Glasper recorded 9 tackles and 2 stuffs. Kalen Reed and Shiloh Keo each had 7 tackles. AJ Johnson had 6 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 hurry and 2 forced fumbles for the Thoroughbreds 12-4.

Brad Kaaya completed 14 of 23 passes for 260 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 sacks. Zach Collaros completed 13 of 21 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown with 1 interception.  David Cobb ran for 44 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Tajae Sharp had 8 receptions for 183 yards and a touchdown. Wes Saxton caught passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Ezell Ruffin caught 3 passes for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Zach Vigil recorded 10 tackles and a forced fumble and David Irvin recorded a sack for the Sharks 8-8.

( 12-4 ) Albuquerque Aztecs- 31  ( 8-8 ) San Antonio Cimarrons- 30

Albuquerque, New Mexico:  William Powell ran in from one yard out to lift the Albuquerque Aztecs to a 31-30 victory in a hard fought contest, ending the Cimarrons winning streak at 6 and eliminating San Antonio from playoff contention.

Tim Cornett ran 27 times for 177 yards and a touchdown. Travis Lulay threw for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns while completing 17 of 27 passing. Rashad Green had 7 receptions for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tommy Shuler caught 6 passes for 61 yards.

Trey Matthews had 7 tackles and Adam Bighil recorded a sack for the Aztecs defense.

Tajh Boyd completed 23 of 34 passes for 277 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 sacks. Marshaun Coprich rumbled for 154 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.  Jamaal Jones caught 6 passes for 93 yards. TJ Jones had 6 catches for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns. Adarius Bowman caught 5 passes for 67 yards.

Antonio Allen recorded 9 tackles and 2 pass deflections. Elijah Lee had 8 tackles and a hurry. Clayton Gathers recorded 7 tackles for the Cimarrons ( 8-8 ).

Other Sunday action:

( 9-7 ) Los Angeles Pharoahs  defeated the Utah Mammoths 35-7. Pharaohs clinches play off berth.  Jeff Driskel completed 17 of 23 passes for 245 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Pharoahs. 

( 9-7 ) Omaha Bulls  defeated the ( 5-11 ) Portland Pioneers 15-10. Rakeem Cato threw for 273 yards and a touchdown, while completing 20 of 31 passing to lead the Bulls. 

( 11-5 ) Pittsburgh Ironmen knocked off the Carolina Breakers 28-25 at Heinz Field Sunday.  Alex Carder completed 25 of 39 passes for 352 yards and 4 touchdowns with 2 sacks to lead the Ironmen.

( 7-9 ) New York Empire- 31  at  ( 8-8 ) Virginia Tritons- 21

New York, N.Y:  Ray Graham rumbled for 177 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns on 31 carries,  plus caught  6 passes  for 60 yards and a touchdown, as the New York Empire defeated the Virginia Tritons 31-21 Saturday at MCU Park Stadium in New York.

John Manziel completed 24 of 34 passing for 251 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked once and ran for 36 yards on 4 carries.  Aaron Burbridge had 7 receptions for 83 yards. Geronimo Allen had 4 catches for 61 yards.

Troy Apke had 8 tackles and 2 pass deflections to lead the New York defense.  Louis Trinca- Pasat recorded a sack as the Empire finished their season at 7-9.

Virginia quarterback Mike Bercovici completed 24 of 43 passes for 396 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was sacked once.  Kenneth Dixon ran for a touchdown while rushing for 24 yards on 3 carries. JJ Nelson had 9 receptions for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 91 yard touchdown reception. Chad Owens had 9 receptions for 100 yards in the loss.

Devon Kennard had 11 tackles and a hurry for the Tritons defense. Brandon Spikes recorded 10 tackles and a hurry. Bernard Pollard chipped in with 8 tackles and Andre Monroe added a sack as the Tritons hope for a playoff berth at 8-8.

( 8-8 ) Hartford Sentinels- 42   ( 5-11 ) Philadelphia Freedom- 20

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:  Mike White completed 25 of 35 passing for 331 yards and 4 touchdowns touchdowns, with one sack as the Hartford Sentinels kept their playoff hopes alive with a 42-20 pounding of the Philadelphia Freedom Saturday at Talen Energy Stadium in Philadelphia.

Aaron Green had 12 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown. Jamal Robinson caught 7 passes for 110 yards. Devonta Freeman had 6 receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown, plus ran 11 times for 38 yards. Antwan Goodley had 6 receptions for 73 yards and a score. Charles Johnson had 6 receptions for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns. DJ Reed had a 93 yard punt return for a touchdown in the win.

Marcus Cooper and Ryan Murphy each recorded 6 tackles. Greg Hardy put in a 4 sack performance while making 5 tackles. Jamar Chaney had 4 tackles and 2 sacks. James Ruffin,  DJ Reed,  Parys Haralson and Damion Square each recorded a sack as the move to 8-8.

Drew Willy threw for 221 yards and a touchdown while completing 17 of 26 passing. He was sacked 8 times. Brandon Whitaker ran 10 times for 77 yards, plus caught 4 passes for 25 yards.  Duke Williams had 3 receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown. Fred Stamps had 2 receptions for 71 yards, including a 61 yard catch. Ty Hilton had a 78 yard punt return for a touchdown as the Freedom finished at 5-11.

Terell Floyd and Joshua Kalu each recorded 7 tackles. Kwon Alexander recorded 2 sacks while making 3 tackles. Danny Trevathan recorded 6 tackles for the Freedom defense.

( 7-9 ) Orlando Vipers- 27  ( 6-10 ) Georgia Generals- 13

Orlando, Florida:  Matt Barkley completed 20 of 30 passing for 345 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception and sacked twice as the Orlando Vipers defeated the Georgia Generals 27-13 at Orlando City Stadium Saturday.

Jahad Thomas ran for 48 yards on 16 carries. Isaiah Burse caught 6 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.  Cam Worthy had 5 receptions for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns. Lance Moore caught 5 passes for 98 yards.

James Morrison had 10 tackles, a pass deflection, 2 stuffs and a hurry. Matt Judon recorded 4 tackles and 3 sacks as Orlando finishes at 7-9.

Colin Kaepernick threw for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns with 3 interceptions and sacked 3 times. Jordan Williams caught 5 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown. Albert Wilson had a touchdown reception,  catching 2 passes for 17 yards.

Demeco Ryan had 7 tackles and a stuff.  Travis Racine had a sack while contributing with 5 tackles. Victor Butler had 3 tackles, a sack, a stuff, a hurry and 2 forced fumbles for the Generals who closed out the year at 6-10.

( 13-3 ) Birmingham Beast- 37  ( 4-12 ) Arkansas Diamond Miners- 14

Little Rock, Arkansas:  The Birmingham Beast clinched the number one seed in the Eastern Conference with a 37-14 victory over the Arkansas Diamond Miners at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock Saturday.

Trevor Harris completed 25 of 40 passing for 274 yards and a touchdown with 1 sack. Rex Burkhead rushed for 45 yards and a score on 18 carries, plus had 2 catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. . Nic Grigsby ran for 2 touchdowns while rushing for 25 yards on 6 carries. Jakeem Grant had 7 receptions for 80 yards. Rashard Higgins caught 7 passes for 63 yards.

Kevon Seymour had 9 tackles and a pass deflection. Beau Bell had 7 tackles, a sack, a pass deflection and a stuff. Kashim Edebali chipped in with 5 tackles, a sack, a pass deflection, a stuff and a hurry. Rober Lester recorded 3 tackles, a sack and a pass deflection as the Beast moved to 13-3.

Colby Cameron threw for 157 yards and a touchdown, while completing 16 of 30 passing. He was sacked 4 times. Samaje Perine rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown on 3 carries. Cody Hoffman had 6 catches for 54 yards. Rannell Hall had a touchdown reception, while catching 2 passes for 58 yards.

Ken Fontenette had 12 tackles and 2 pass deflections. Antwione Williams recorded 11 tackles. Beau Allen recorded a sack as the Diamond Miners finished at 4-12.

Memphis, Tennessee:  Mike Reilly completed 24 of 39 passes for 363 yards and 2 touchdowns with 3 sacks, plus ran for  a score as the Dallas Outlaws clinched the number 4 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Akeem Hunt rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, plus had 6 receptions for 57 yards. Ben Tate ran 10 times for 50 yards and a touchdown. Malcom Mitchell had 9 catches for 156 yards and a touchdown. Bud Sasser caught 6 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Grady Jarrett recorded 6 tackles, a sack, 2 stuffs and a forced fumble. Josh Norman had 6 tackles and a pass deflection. Greg Stroman had 5 tackles and a 19 yard interception return. Jason Babin recorded 5 tackles, a sack and a stuff. Frank Trotter and Shawn Lemon each recorded a sack for the Outlaws 10-6.

Ricky Ray in his final game completed 17 of 30 passing for 200 yards and a touchdown. He was intercepted once and sacked 3 times.  Tim Hightower ran 10 times for 49 yards.  Cameron Artis Payne had a touchdown run. Marcus Johnson caught 6 passes for 86 yards. Knowshon Moreno had 4 catches for 43 yards and a touchdown.

Ethan Westbrook made 10 tackles, 1 sack, a pass deflection, 3 stuffs, a hurry and a forced fumble. Duke Ihenacho recorded 9 tackles and a pass deflection. James Acho and Devante Brooks each had a sack, as the HoundDogs finished at 6-10.

Late Game:

( 11-5 ) Sacramento Crusaders- 25  ( 4-12 ) Oakland Renegades- 21

Sacramento, California:  Trevone Boykin threw for one touchdown and ran for another as the Sacramento Crusaders ( 11-5 ) defeated the Oakland Renegades 25-21 at Hughes Stadium Saturday night.

Boykin finished the night completing 14 of 19 passes for 206 yards and a touchdown with a sack. He also rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Stevan Ridley ran 16 times for 67 yards. Austin Hill caught 6 passes for 92 yards and a score.

Jason Trusnik and Geoff Tisdale each recorded 6 tackles. Glenn Foster had 5 tackles and a sack. Dontella Brooks and Brian Rolle each had a interception for the Crusaders.

Vad Lee led Oakland, completing 19 of 32 passing for 247 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions and a sack. He also ran 8 times for 75 yards as the Renegades end the season at 4-12.

A.F.F.A WEEK SEVENTEEN FRIDAY NIGHT RESULT



( 9-7 ) Houston Roughnecks- 35  ( 9-7 ) Oklahoma Gunslingers- 29

Houston, Texas:  Blake Sims threw for 313 yards and a touchdown as the Houston Roughnecks defeated the Oklahoma Gunslingers 35-29 at TDECU Stadium in Houston Friday night.

With the win the Roughnecks remained in the chase for a wildcard playoff berth, but needs help. Oklahoma remains on the inside track for a berth in a now jumbled Western Conference playoff chase despite the loss.

Sims completed 22 of 37 passes and was sacked once.  Kapri Bibbs ran for two touchdowns while rushing for 39 yards on 16 carries.  Malcom Brown ran for a touchdown while rushing for 36 yards on 9 carries. Jamison Crowder had 7 catches for 169 yards, including a 62 yard reception. Deontay Grey had 6 receptions for 60 yards. Jason Avant had a touchdown reception,  catching 4 passes for 35 yards.

Greg Reid had 7 tackles and a sack to lead the  Roughnecks defense.  Mike Patter had a sack to go along with 3 tackles. Tyler Davis recorded 2 sacks as the Roughnecks moved to 9-7.

Matt Johnson completed 19 of 30 passes for 302 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was sacked 4 times. He also ran for a score, rushing for 18 yards on 8 carries. Rajon Neal ran 9 times for 79 yards.  Chandler Jones caught 11 passes for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 80 yard touchdown reception. He also had a 61 yard run. Josh Harper caught 5 passes for 45 yards.

Derrell Johnson recorded 10 tackles,  a sack and 3 stuffs. Malcom Butler had 7 tackles, a pass deflection and a forced fumble. DeAndre Carter had 6 tackles as the Gunslingers fall to 9-7.

" I can't say enough about this team. They had their backs against the wall and played their asses off.  Blake is a top notch quarterback and in my opinion one of, if not the top all around quarterback in this league!" said Houston head coach Rob Ryan in a post game interview.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania:  Mike White threw two fourth quarter touchdown passes to Jamal Robinson ( 23, 63 ) as the Hartford Sentinels ( 7-8 ) upended the play off bound Atlantic division champion Pittsburgh Ironmen ( 10-5 ) 34-31 at Heinz Field Sunday afternoon.

White finished completing 28 of 42 passes for 392 yards and 2 touchdowns and sacked twice.  Aaron Green ran 11 times for 79 yards and a touchdown. Devonta Freeman ran for a score, rushing for 5 yards on 10 carries. Jamal Robinson caught 9 passes for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns. Antwan Goodley had 5 receptions for 71 yards. Alfonso Dennard recorded 6 tackles. Avery Moss had a sack while recording 4 tackles, a stuff and 2 hurries. John Bowman and Bear Woods also recorded a sack for the Sentinels.

Alex Carder completed 19 of 41 passes for 292 yards and 3 touchdowns with 2 interceptions and was sacked three times. He also ran 12 times for 49 yards.  Tyler Gaffney rushed for 75 yards on 7 carries, including a 60 yard touchdown run. Eric Rogers had 6 receptions for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns. Alec Lemon caught 7 passes for 74 yards and a score.

Max Bullough and Nick Marshall each recorded 8 tackles. Mike Edwards had 6 tackles. Jamari Lattimore had 5 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 hurries and 2 forced fumbles for the Ironmen.

Omaha, Nebraska:  Rakeem Cato threw for 365 yards and 5 touchdowns while completing 18 of 25 passing as the Omaha Bulls remained in strong contention for a playoff spot with a 45-38 victory over the St. Louis Scouts Sunday at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.

Trent Richardson rushed for 79 yards on 15 carries. James O'Shaughnessy caught 5 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. Emmanuel Arceneaux had 4 catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Thomas made 3 receptions for 92 yards, including a 76 yard touchdown reception. Da'Ron Brown had a 72 yard touchdown catch. Will Hill had 12 tackles and a pass deflection. Brandon Boykin had 9 tackles, a pass deflection and a forced fumble. Gabe Martin recorded 8 tackles, a sack, 2 stuffs and a hurry. Ryan Delaires had 6 tackles, a sack 2 stuffs and a hurry for the Bulls. Darius Phillips had a 62 yard punt return for a touchdown in the win.

Robert Griffin III completed 25 of 41 passing for 206 yards and a touchdown, plus ran 7 times for 29 yards and a score to lead the Scouts. Robbie Rouse had 10 carries for 60 yards and a score.  Zack Laskey ran 8 times for 57 yards and a touchdown. Kenbrell Thompkins had 10 receptions for 87 yards. Andy Jones had 6 catches for 65 yards and a touchdown. Mike Campanaro recorded a 91 yard kick return for a score. John Timu had 7 tackles and 2 stuffs. Lawrence Jackson recorded 2 sacks for the Scouts in the loss.

Norman, Oklahoma:  The Albuquerque Aztecs captured their second straight Frontier Division title in dominating fashion Sunday, shutting out the home standing Oklahoma Gunslingers 33-0 before 37,000 at Gaylord Memorial Stadium in Norman.

Travis Lulay completed 16 of 29 passes for 268 yards and 2 touchdowns and sacked once. Tim Cornett ran for 124 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, plus caught 5 passes for 37 yards. Vic Ballard also ran for a score. Tommy Shuler had 3 receptions for 100 yards including a 79 yard touchdown catch. Rashad Green caught 3 passes for 66 yards. Trey Matthews recorded 8 tackles and a pass deflection. Avery Williams had 7 tackles, a sack, a stuff and a forced fumble. Geno Hayes made 7 tackles, a sack and 2 stuffs for the Aztecs ( 11-4). TJ Carrie recorded two picks. Jalen Mills and Keenan Lewis also had an interception.

Matt Johnson completed 20 of 33 passes for 260 yards, but threw 4 interceptions and was sacked twice. He also ran 9 times for 32 yards as the Gunslingers were held to just 59 yards rushing on 23 attempts. Chandler Jones caught 4 passes for 51 yards and Rajon Neal had 4 catches 31 yards to go along with 16 rushing yards on 7 carries. Josh Harper caught 3 passes for 82 yards. Joplo Bartu led the defense with 6 tackles and a sack. DeAndre Carter had 5 tackles and a pass deflection in the loss for the Gunslingers who remained in prime play off position.

Birmingham, Alabama:  Trevor Harris threw 4 touchdowns while completing 23 of 34 passing as the Birmingham Beast devoured the Memphis HoundDogs 33-21 before a near capacity crowd at Legion Field Sunday afternoon. Harris threw 2 interceptions and was sacked twice.

Nic Grigsby ran 7 times for 68 yards and a touchdown. Rex Burkhead rushed for 45 yards on 11 carries, plus 5 catches for 62 yards and. Rashard Higgins caught 7 passes for 118 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jakeem Grant had 8 receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown. Avonte Maddox recorded 12 tackles and a forced fumble. Telvin Smith had 8 tackles and 2 pass deflections. Marvin Austin had 6 tackles, 1 pass deflection, 1 stuff and a hurry. Beau Bell had 6 tackles, 2 stuffs and a forced fumble. Corey Little recorded a sack as well for the Beast.

HoundDogs quarterback Ricky Ray completed 17 of 41 passes for 179 yards and sacked twice. Tim Hightower had 10 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown. Cameron Artis Payne ran 9 times for 67 yards. Zach Line ran for 2 touchdowns, while rushing for 24 yards on 9 carries. L'Damian Washington had 5 receptions for 63 yards. EJ Gains led the defense with 9 tackles. Jacquain Williams recorded 7 tackles, a sack and a stuff. Grover Stewart also recorded a sack.  Elandon Roberts and Armani Watts each recorded a interception for the HoundDogs (6-9 ).

Portland, Oregon:  Bryan Bennett threw for 2 touchdowns and ran for another as the Portland Pioneers rolled over the Oakland Renegades 30-14 Sunday at Providence Park in Portland.

Bennett completed 18 of 25 passing for 378 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception and sacked twice. He also ran 15 times for 68 yards and a touchdown. Jhurell Pressley ran 10 times for 69 yards and Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Geremy Davis had 7 receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown.  Titus Davis had 4 catches for 116 yards, including a 53 yard touchdown catch.

Scooby Wright led the defense with 8 tackles, a sack and a hurry. Brian Poole also recorded 8 tackles in the win for the Pioneers.

Vad Lee completed 16 of 35 passing for 172 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked once.  Antonio Andrews rushed for 136 yards and a score on 11 carries,  plus caught 6 passes for 48 yards. Keyarris Garrett caught 6 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown. Jake Ryan recorded 12 tackles, a sack and 2 stuffs. Jayron Kearse had 4 tackles and a 35 yard interception return. Jaylen Hill had 4 tackles and a sack as the Renegades fall to  4-11 on the year.

Carson, California:  Jeff Driskel completed 16 of 28 passing for 204 yards and a touchdown with one sack, as the Los Angeles Pharoahs defeated the Miami Sharks 26-17 in a battle of play off contenders Sunday at Dignity Health Park in Carson before an estimated crowd of 21,036.

Jay Ajayi rumbled for 139 yards on 22 carries. Dennis Johnson ran 10 times for 10 yards and a score. Jordan Payton caught 5 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown. Mario Alford had 4 receptions for 45 yards. Eddie Moten recorded 8 tackles, a pass deflection, a hurry and a forced fumble. Eric Wilson and David Onyemata each had a sack. Kenny Vaccaro had a 45 yard interception return for the Pharoahs in the win.

Zach Collaros completed 15 of 25 passing for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 sack. Brad Kaaya completed 9 of 18 passes for 100 yards and 2 interceptions. Tajae Sharp had 9 receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown. Wes Saxton had 3 catches for 56 yards and a score. The Sharks were held to only 57 yards rushing on 13 attempts ( 4.4 yard average).

David Irving had 8 tackles, 3 stuffs, 2 hurries and a forced fumble. Brandon Brown and Jonathan Miller each recorded 7 tackles. Winston Guy recorded a sack for the Sharks.

( 8-7 ) Columbus Aviators- 20  ( 6-9 ) New York Empire- 17

New York, New York:  Chuckie Keeton threw a 69 yard touchdown pass to Austin Franklin and ran for a 13 yard touchdown as the Columbus Aviators stayed in the playoff chase with a 20-17 victory over the New York Empire at MCU Park Stadium Sunday night.

Keeton finished throwing for 218 yards and a touchdown on 18 of 28 passing. He was sacked twice . He also ran 5 times for 44 yards and a score.  Brandon Wegher ran 8 times for 51 yards. Austin Franklin had 3 receptions for 90 yards and a score. Mycole Pruitt had 7 catches for 51 yards. Jared Abbrederis had 5 receptions for 51 yards.

Phillip Stewart had 11 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. Jeremy Keller recorded 7 tackles. Dean Lowry had 6 tackles and a sack. Khalil Bass had 3 tackles, a sack, a stuff and a forced fumble.

John Manziel completed 14 of 20 passing for 192 yards,  he also ran 8 times for 64 yards. He was sacked 3 times. Ray Graham ran for 161 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. ( 13-2 ) Chicago Stags- 32  ( 6-9 ) Michigan Panthers- 23

Detroit, Michigan:  Brandon Doughty threw for 309 yards and 2 touchdowns on 22 of 30 passing to lead the Great Lakes Division Champion Chicago Stags to a 32-23 victory over the Michigan Panthers at Ford Field in Detroit Saturday. He was sacked 5 times.

Josh Robinson rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Alfred Morris ran 17 times for 77 yards and a score. Roger Lewis caught 11 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. Willie Snead had 7 receptions for 116 yards and a score.  Leshaun Sims led the defense with 7 tackles and a pass deflection. Kyle Emanuel had 6 tackles, a sack, 2 stuffs and 2 hurries. Ray Ray Armstrong also recorded a sack for the Stags who move to a league best 13-2 record.

Cody Kessler completed 17 of 32 passes for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 sacks.  Paul Perkins ran for 87 yards on 9 carries. Montee Ball ran 4 times for 40 yards, plus had 4 catches for 46 yards and a touchdown. Darrin Pete caught 4 passes for 49 yards and a score. Pharoh Cooper had 3 catches for 50 yards. Corey White recorded 10 tackles to lead the Panthers defense. Fred Bennett had 5 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 pass deflections. Carlos Watkins, Jermaine Carter and Tourek Williams each recorded a sack as the Panthers dropped to 6-9 on the season.

Orlando, Florida:  Matt Barkley connected with Lance Moore on a 56 yard touchdown pass with 1:10 remaining to lift the Orlando Vipers to a 45-42 victory over the Louisville Thoroughbreds Saturday at Orlando City Stadium.

Barkley finished completing 24 of 36 passing for 448 yards and 5 touchdowns with 1 sack. Jahad Thomas ran for 50 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Isaiah Burse had 10 receptions for 147 yards and 3 touchdowns. Cam Worthy caught 6 passes for 153 yards including a 86 yard touchdown catch and run. Lance Moore finished with 6 catches for 139 yards and a score. Ifo Ekpre-Olomu each had 7 tackles. Dorance Armstrong recorded 5 tackles, 2 sacks and a forced fumble. David Bass also recorded a sack as the Vipers improved to 6-9.

Bo Levi Mitchell completed 16 of 24 passes for 285 yards and a touchdown with 3 sacks. Ray Rice rushed for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 carries. Zac Stacy ran for 2 touchdowns while rushing for 26 yards on 9 carries. Cameron Meredith had 4 receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Spadola caught 4 passes for 73 yards and Josh Stewart had 4 receptions for 66 yards. Ishmaa'lly Kitchen had 10 tackles and AJ Johnson recorded a sack for the Thoroughbreds 11-4. Lorenzo Jerome had a 91 yard kick return for a touchdown.

Raleigh, N.C:  Zach Zenner ran for 3 touchdowns while rushing for 153 yards on 30 carries  as the Carolina Breakers rip the Georgia Generals 38-19 at Carter-Finley Stadium Saturday

Nic Shimonek completed 15 of 26 passing for 236 yards and a touchdown, with 1 interception and sacked twice. Luke Tasker had 3 receptions for 86 yards and a score. Andre Caldwell caught 4 passes for 78 yards. Captain Munnerlyn recorded 8 tackles and a pass deflection. Najee Gooden and George Uko each recorded a sack for the Breakers.

Colin Kaepernick completed 15 of 23 passes for 118 yards and sacked twice. He also rushed for 46 yards on 5 carries.  Khiry Robinson ran for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns on 22 carries. Brandon Bolden ran for a touchdown while rushing for 39 yards on 3 carries Demeco Ryan recorded 6 tackles, 2 stuffs and a hurry. Alex Singleton and Victor Butler each recorded a sack for the Generals ( 6-9 ). Treston Decord had a 27 yard interception.

( 8-7 ) San Antonio Cimarrons- 41  ( 8-7 ) Houston Roughnecks- 35

San Antonio, Texas:  Tajh Boyd completed 18 of 28 passes for 265 yards and 4 touchdowns with 2 interceptions and sacked 4 times as the red hot San Antonio Cimarrons won their 6th straight game with a 41-35 victory over the Houston Roughnecks, thereby sweeping both meetings against the Roughnecks this season.

Marshaun Coprich ran 24 times for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. Adarius Bowman had 5 receptions for 102 yards. TJ Jones caught 6 passes for 88 yards and three touchdowns. Jack Doyle caught 2 passes for 25 yards and a touchdown. Ben Heeney recorded 12 tackles, 3 stuffs and a forced fumble. Antonio Allen had 8 tackles for the San Antonio  defense.

Blake Sims led the Roughnecks throwing for 285 yards and three touchdowns on 25 of 30 passing,  plus ran for a touchdown. Kapri Bibbs ran 13 times for 63 yards.  Malcom Brown rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, plus had a touchdown reception. Jason Avant caught 7 passes for 65 yards. Jamison Crowder had 5 catches for 69 yards and a touchdown. Deontay Grey had 4 catches for 55 yards and a score.

Winston Venable recorded 6 tackles, a sack and 2 hurries. Khreem Smith, Jeff Knox Jr and Odell Willis each recorded a sack as the Roughnecks fall to 8-7.

( 9-6 ) Dallas Outlaws- 22  ( 4-11 ) Arkansas Diamond Miners- 20

Dallas, Texas:  Justin Medlock booted a 51 yard field goal with just over a minute to play as the Dallas Outlaws slipped by the Arkansas Diamond Miners 22-20, virtually clinching a playoff berth before a packed Gerald J. Ford Stadium Saturday evening.

Mike Reilly despite being sacked six times, completed 17 of 28 passes for 269 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ben Tate ran 19 times for 77 yards. Jasper Collins caught 8 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. Bud Sasser had 3 catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. Josh Norman powered the Outlaws defense with 9 tackles and a pass deflection. Deon Lacey had 5 tackles, a sack and a hurry.

Colby Cameron completed 22 of 40 passes for 236 yards and sacked once. He also once again led the Diamond Miners in rushing with 68 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries as the Arkansas rushing game again fell flat with a total 65 yards on 30 carries. Cody Hoffman had 11 catches for 129 yards.

Antwione Williams led the Arkansas defense with 11 tackles and 2 stuffs. Charles Tapper recorded 3 sacks, 4 tackles, 1 hurry and 2 forced fumbles. Justin Hickman had 3 tackles, 2 sacks and a hurry. Beau Allen had 3 tackles, 2 sacks, a stuff and a hurry as the Diamond Miners fell to 4-11 on the year.

( 6-9 ) Utah Mammoths- 27  ( 10-5 ) Sacramento Crusaders- 24

Sacramento, California:  Chris Streveler threw for 238 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran  for another,  as the Utah Mammoths survived a late Sacramento surge to defeat the Crusaders 27-24 at Hughes Stadium in Sacramento Sunday night.

Streveler finished completing 17 of 24 passing with 1 interception and sacked 3 times. He also ran 5 times for 41 yards.  Devontae Booker ran 20 times for 90 yards, plus a touchdown reception. DeAndre Carter caught 6 passes for 80 yards. Rolly Lumbala caught 5 passes for 56 yards and a score.  Madison Magnum had 3 receptions for 84 yards. Luke Rhodes and Anthony Brown each recorded 6 tackles. Kwaku Boate had 4 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 pass deflection, a stuff, a hurry and a forced fumble. Jasper Simmons had 3 tackles and a sack for the Mammoths.

The Crusaders who have already clinched the Pacific Division title, was led by quarterback Trevone Boykin who threw for one touchdown and ran for another.  Boykin completed 15 of 23 passes for 148 yards with 3 sacks,  plus ran 19 times for 64 yards. Byron Marsh had a 64 yard touchdown run. Austin Hill caught 6 passes for 56 yards. DeMarco Sampson had 2 catches for 45 yards and a score.

Zach Bowman led the defense with 8 tackles and a pass deflection. Charleston Hughes recorded 6 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 hurries. Leodis McKenzie had 4 tackles and 1 sack for Sacramento ( 10-5 ).

Whitaker finished the night with 87 yards on 13 carries and three touchdowns.  Kory Sheets ran 19 times for 86 yards. Drew Willy completed 18 of 41 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown with 2 sacks. Fred Stamps had 5 receptions for 76 yards and a score.  Tom Wort led the defense with 8 tackles, 1 hurry and a forced fumble. Kwon Alexander recorded a sack.

Virginia was led by quarterback Mike Bercovici who completed 27 of 49 passes for 319 yards and a touchdown with 1 sack. The Tritons rushing attack was stifled, rushing for only 5 yards on only 10 carries. JJ Nelson caught 3 passes for 109 yards including a 79 yard touchdown reception. Chad Owens had 7 receptions for 72 yards. Khalil Bass had 10 tackles, a sack, a pass deflection, a stuff and a hurry to lead the Tritons defense. Brandon Spikes had 6 tackles, a sack, a pass deflection and a hurry. Hayes Pullard recorded 7 tackles, a pass deflection, a stuff and a hurry in the loss for Virginia.

With Virginia's loss, the Pittsburgh Ironmen claimed their third consecutive Atlantic Division title.  Virginia remains in the playoff hunt but needs help.

( 5-9 ) Utah Mammoths- 34  ( 4-10 ) Philadelphia Freedom- 17

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:  Devontae Booker rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries as the Utah Mammoths pounded the Philadelphia Freedom 34-17 at Talen Energy Stadium in Philadelphia Sunday afternoon.

Mammoths quarterback Chris Streveler completed 11 of 24 passes for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns, while rushing for 49 yards and a score on 9 carries. He was sacked once and intercepted twice. Madison Magnum had 3 receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown. Dominick Goodman had a touchdown reception, catching 2 passes for 26 yards. DeAndre Carter had 4 catches for 49 yards.

Jaylen Reeves recorded 7 tackles and a sack. D'Quan Bowers had 6 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 stuffs and a forced fumble. Red Bryant, Darrington Sentimore and Kwaku Boate each recorded a sack for the defense as the Mammoths moved to ( 5-9 ).

Philadelphia was led by Brandon Whitaker who ran for 110 yards on 18 carries. Kory Sheets ran 7 times for 54 yards and a touchdown. Drew Willy was sacked five times while completing 11 of 23 passes for only 86 yards. Joshua Kalu led the defense with 9 tackles. Terell Floyd recorded 8 tackles and 2 pass deflections. Xavier Woods recorded 4 tackles, 1 sack and 1 pass deflection as the Freedom fall to 4-10.

( 8-6 ) Houston Roughnecks- 14  ( 4-10 ) Oakland Renegades- 13

Oakland, California:  Blake Sims threw a 10 yard touchdown pass to Ricardo Louis with eleven seconds remaining in regulation as the Houston Roughnecks defeated the Oakland Renegades 14-13 at Oakland Alameda Coliseum Sunday night.

Sims completed 14 of 27 passes for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions and sacked once. Kapri Bibbs ran 17 times for 40 yards. Deontay Grey caught 3 passes for 89 yards. Jamison Crowder caught 5 passes for 72 yards and a score. Ricardo Louis finished with 1 catch, that being the 10 yard game winning reception.

Curtis Maggit powered the defense with 8 tackles and a stuff. Chris Jones had 7 tackles and a stuff. Winston Venable had a sack while making 4 tackles as the Roughnecks kept their playoff hopes alive.

Vad Lee led the Renegades, completing 10 of 21 passes for 107 yards. He was sacked once. Lee also led the Renegades in rushing, running 13 times for 104 yards. Antonio Andrews ran 14 times for 41 yards and Derrick Ross ran for a touchdown while rushing 13 times for 33 yards. Keyarris Garrett caught 5 passes for 55 yards.

Denicos Allen, Vince Williams and Marquel Williams each had 6 tackles and Henry Mondeaux recorded as sack as the Renegades dropped to  4-10 on the year.

( 4-10 ) Portland Pioneers- 34   ( 4-10 ) Arkansas Diamond Miners- 10

Little Rock, Arkansas:  Bryan Bennett threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Portland Pioneers rocked the Arkansas Diamond Miners 34-10 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock Saturday.

Bennett completed 17 of 24 passes for 309 yards and 2 touchdowns with 3 sacks. He rushed for 38 yards and a score on 15 carries. Jhurell Pressley ran 13 times for 44 yards, plus had a touchdown reception. Glenn Gronkowski ran for a score, rushing for 18 yards on 3 carries. Titus Davis had 7 receptions for 145 yards. Geremy Davis caught 5 passes for 90 yards. Connor Hamilton had a 45 yard touchdown reception.  Cam Thomas led the defense with 5 tackles in the win for the Pioneers.

In what was most likely Gary Crowton's swan song, the Diamond  Miners put up a lackluster performance with only 190 yards total offense.

Colby Cameron completed only 9 of 22 passes for 132 yards,  but scored the Diamond Miners line touchdown with a 6 yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He ran 12 times for 30 yards. The Diamond Miners running game was once again anemic gaining only 36 net yards on 18 carries.

Cody Hoffman had 5 catches for 46 yards. Mike Davis had 2 receptions for 68 yards, including a 60 yard catch. Keon Raymond had 11 tackles and a sack. Jeff Holland recorded 8 tackles, a sack, 3 stuffs and a forced fumble. Beau Allen had 4 tackles, a sack, a stuff and a hurry in the loss for the Diamond Miners.

( 9-5 ) Oklahoma Gunslingers- 35  ( 7-7 ) Los Angeles Pharoahs- 30

Carson, California:  Matt Johnson completed 16 of 26 passes for 249 yards and 3 touchdowns. Rajon Neal ran for a pair of touchdowns as the Oklahoma Gunslingers held on for a 35-30 victory over the Los Angeles Pharoahs at Dignity Health Park in Carson Saturday night.

Cyrus Gray ran 10 times for 72 yards. Rajon Neal had 12 carries for 68 yards and two scores. Chandler Jones had a 68 yard run, plus caught 4 passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Josh Harper had 6 receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown. Joplo Bartu led the defense with 8 tackles and a stuff. Malcom Butler had 7 tackles.  Josh Sweat and Christian Covington each recorded a sack for the Gunslingers who can wrap up a playoff spot with a win and a Houston loss. Can take division lead with win over current leader Albuquerque next week ( points scored).

The Pharoahs playoff hopes took a big hit, plus the loss gave the Pacific Division crown to the Sacramento Crusaders.

Jeff Driskel completed 24 of 30 passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns with 2 sacks. Jay Ajayi who will jump to the NFL after the season, ran 15 times for 110 yards and a score. Dennis Johnson ran 13 times for 57 yards. Mario Alford had 8 receptions for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Payton caught 5 passes for 79 yards and a score.

Michael Huffman led the Pharoahs defense with 6 tackles and a pass deflection. Solomon Elimenin recorded 5 tackles as the Pharoahs slipped to .500 on the year.

Norfolk, Virginia-  The Birmingham Beast clinched their second consecutive Mid-South Division title Friday night, defeating the Virginia Tritons 27-20 at Dick Price Stadium in Norfolk.

Trevor Harris completed 27 of 38 passes for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception and sacked 3 times to lead the Beast. Rex Burkhead rushed for 101 yards on 17 carries. Nic Grigsby ran for a score, while rushing for 35 yards on 5 carries. Rashard Higgins had 9 receptions for 111 yards. Jakeem Grant caught 9 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown. Jake Butt also had a touchdown reception. Beau Bell and Taylor Reed led the defense with 7 tackles each. Marvin Austin,  Javon Hargrove and Corey Little each recorded a sack for the Beast ( 11-3 ) in the win.

Mike Bercovici led Virginia, completing 19 of 40 passes for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was sacked 3 times and intercepted once. Dontella Luckett caught 6 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown. Chad Owens had 6 receptions for 87 yards and a score Bernard Pollard led the defense with 7 tackles. David Parry, Devon Kennard and Andre Monroe recorded a sack for the Tritons ( 8-6 )
