Philadelphia, Pa;  Johnny Manziel hit Aaron Burbridge for a 47 yard second quarter touchdown pass and Dee Hart ran for another as the New York Emporers ( 4-2 ) shut out the Philadelphia Bulldogs 17-0 before 21,000 at Talen Energy Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Manziel finished completing 10 of 16 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown.  Aaron Burbridge caught 3 passes for 73 yards and a score.  Matt Walter led all rushers, running for 105 yards on 24 carries. Dee Hart finished with 2 carries for 16 yards and a score. Lamar Miller contributed with 54 yards on 13 carries.

Drew Willy led Philadelphia completing only 8 of 19 passes for 106 yards with one interception and sacked twice.  John Crockett ran 18 times for 72 yards as the Bulldogs fall to 1-5.

( 4-2 ) Dallas - 42     ( 2-4 ) Memphis - 21

Dallas, Tx;  Dallas quarterback Mike Reilly threw for 276 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Dallas Outlaws toppled the Memphis Knights 42-21 before a near capacity crowd at Gerald J. Ford stadium Sunday.

Lennon Creer had 18 carries for 103 yards and 3 touchdowns. Wes Saxton had 8 receptions for 88 yards.  Bud Sadder caught 5 passes for 45 yards and a score and Malcolm Mitchell chipped in 5 receptions for 68 yards and a score.

Ricky Ray completed 31 of 44 passes for 258 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception and sacked 4 times to lead Memphis. Cameron Artis Payne ran 13 times for 55 yards. Ryan Smith had 8 receptions for 64 yards and a score. Marcus Johnson caught 7 passes for 62 yards and a score. Neal Sterling had 2 receptions for 27 yards and a score.  Austin Collie caught 8 passes for 64 yards in the loss for the Knights.

Dallas moves to 4-2. While Memphis falls to 2-4.

Raleigh, NC;  Zach Zenner ran 12 times for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Carolina Swarm defeated the Orlando Vipers 44-28 at Carter Finley Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Swarm quarterback Shane Carder had another impressive outing as he threw for 209 yards and 4 touchdowns and sacked twice.  Dusty Keller caught 7 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns.  Luke Tasker had 4 receptions for 38 yards and two touchdowns for the Swarm who improved to 2-4.

Orlando quarterback Tim Tebow threw for 279 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Vipers  ( 2-4 ).  Alex Collins ran 18 times for 112 yards,  plus 2 touchdown receptions.  Cam Worthy caught 10 passes for 77 yards and a score. De'Runnya Wilson had 5 catches for 66 yards and a score in the loss.

( 4-2 ) Chicago - 43     ( 1-5 ) Columbus - 17

Chicago, Illinois;  Brandon Doughty completed 26 of 32 passes for 395 yards and 3 touchdowns with 2 sacks as the Chicago Stags ( 4-2 ) defeated the Columbus Explorers 43-17 before 24,200 at Soldier Field Sunday .

Marcus Murphy had another 100 yard game, rushing for 127 yards and a score. Alonzo Harris and  Zack Brooks also ran for a touchdown.  Roger Lewis caught 8 passes for 123 yards and a score. Willie Snead had 8 receptions for 103 yards. Gator Hoskins chipped in with 3 receptions for 67 yards and a score.

Terrell Pryor completed only 9 of 12 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked once.  Joseph Randall ran 7 times for 92 yards.  Eric Brietenstein had 6 carries for 77 yards and a score.  Andrew Turzilli caught 3 passes for 76 yards and a score in the loss for the Explorers  ( 1-5 ).

( 4-2 ) San Antonio - 13    ( 1-5 ) Arizona - 6

San Antonio, Tx;  Tajh Boyd completed 27 of 41 passes for 316 yards and one touchdown as the San Antonio Six-Shooters defeated the Arizona Scorpions 13-6 before 23,400 at Alamo Stadium Sunday evening.

Marshaun Coprich had 62 yards rushing on 14 carries. Jamaal Jones caught 7 passes for 104 yards and a score. Adarius Bowman had 7 receptions for 95 yards in the win for the Six-Shooters.

Travis Lulay threw for 175 yards and one touchdown. He was sacked once.  Tim Cornett ran 12 times for 62 yards. Rashad Green caught 6 passes for 112 yards and a score in the loss for the Scorpions who fall to 1-5.

( 4-2 ) Michigan - 30      ( 2-4 ) Omaha - 20

Omaha, Nebraska;  Cody Kessler threw for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns, with 1 sack to lead the Michigan Panthers to a 30-20 victory over the Omaha Bulls at TD Ameritrade Field in Omaha Sunday.

Paul Perkins ran 15 times for 72 yards and a score, plus caught 6 passes for 46 yards.  Joseph Fauria had 5 receptions for 70 yards and a score, while Albert Wilson had 4 catches for 56 yards and a score in the win.

Omaha was led by quarterback Rakeem Cato who completed 23 of 33 passes for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was sacked once.  Trent Richardson ran for 77 yards on 20 carries, plus caught 7 passes for 68 yards.  Da'Ron Brown caught 5 passes for 40 yards and a score. Bralon Addison also had a touchdown reception in the loss for the Bulls.

( 4-2 ) Pittsburgh - 14    ( 3-3 ) Washington - 12

Washington, DC;  Alex Carder threw for two touchdowns as the Pittsburgh Forge topped the Washington Wave 14-12 at RFK Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Carder completed 16 of 31 passes for 182 yards and was sacked 5 times. He also ran 10 times for 23 yards.  Clarence Denmark caught 6 passes for 56 yards and a score. Eric Rodgers also had a touchdown reception as the Forge improved to 4-2.

Mike Bercovici completed 21 of 33 passes for 235 yards and 1 touchdown, with 1 interception and was sacked 4 times. Tommy Taggart ran 19 times for 67 yards. Chad Owens had 9 receptions for 79 yards and a score. Donatella Luckett contributed with 7 receptions for 103 yards in the loss as the Wave's 3 game winning streak came to an end.

Devon Kennard recorded 6 tackles and 3 sacks to lead the Wave defense.

Jamari Lattimore recorded 2 sacks and 6 tackles for the Forge.

( 6-0 ) Louisville - 36    ( 3-3 ) Miami - 24

Louisville, Ky;  Ray Rice ran for 166 yards and 4 touchdowns on 30 carries to power the Louisville Thoroughbreds past the Miami Sharks 36-24 and remain unbeaten.

Rice also had 4 receptions for 40 yards. Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell completed 13 of 25 passes for 151 yards with 1 interception. Cameron Meredith had 4 receptions for 53 yards as the Thoroughbreds move to 6-0.

Zack Collaros threw for 261 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception for the Sharks who lost their third straight.  David Cobb ran 19 times for 81 yards. Nick Toon caught 6 passes for 92 yards and a score. Jeff Heuerman and S.J. Green each had a touchdown reception as the Sharks fall to 3-3.

( 4-2 ) Oklahoma - 47     ( 2-4 ) Houston - 17

Norman, Ok;  Matt Johnson completed 26 of 40 passes for 352 yards and 2 touchdowns and sacked once as the Oklahoma Roughnecks pounded the Houston Wranglers 47-17.

Rajon Neal ran 13 times for 29 yards and a score. Chandler Jones had 8 receptions for 146 yards. Josh Harper caught 7 passes for 104 yards.  Chris Moore and Chris Gragg each had a touchdown reception in the win as the Roughnecks move to 4 - 2.

Kapri Bibbs ran for 114 yards and a score to lead the Wranglers. Vince Young  threw for 111 yards with one interception and sacked twice. Roddy White had 4 catches for 82 yards in the loss as the Wranglers fall to 2-4.

Mike Campanaro recorded a 79 yard punt return for a touchdown for the Roughnecks.

( 4-2 ) New Orleans - 34     ( 3-3 ) Birmingham - 13

Birmingham, Al;  Colby Cameron completed 18 of 31 passes for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns as the New Orleans Nightmare took down the Birmingham Predators 34-13 before 26,000 at Legion Field Saturday.

Jerome Messum ran 16 times for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Ty Hilton recorded 5 receptions for 61 yards and a score for the Nightmare  ( 4-2 )

Trevor Harris threw for 216 yards and a touchdown, with 4 interceptions and sacked once in leading the Predators.  Rasheed Williams rumbled for 104 yards on 12 carries. Jakeem Grant caught 10 passes for 115 yards. Paul McRoberts had a touchdown reception in the loss for the Predators  (3-3 )

( 5-1 ) Los Angeles - 17     ( 1-5 ) Sacramento - 10

Sacramento, Calif;  Jeff Driskell tossed 2 touchdowns while completing 25 of 48 passes as the Los Angeles Pharaohs ( 5-1 ) slipped by the Sacramento Crusaders 17-10 Saturday night.

Jay Ajayi ran 20 times for 72 yards. Mario Alford caught 7 passes for 97 yards and a score. Cayleb Jones added 4 catches for 64 yards and a score in the win for the Pharaohs.

Eric Meyer completed 11 of 21 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked once.  Vic Ballard ran 13 times for 83 yards.  Marquez North had 4 catches for 76 yards and a score in the loss for the Crusaders ( 1-5 ).

MAMMOTHS TRAMPLE PIONEERS!

Salt Lake City, Utah;  Dak Prescott threw for a touchdown and ran for two more to lead the Utah Mammoths to a 34-16 victory over the Portland Pioneers Friday night on A.F.F.A Friday Night Football before 26,812 at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Prescott finished completing 18 of 28 passes for 169 yards with 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions and sacked once. He ran 12 times for 16 yards and 2 scores.
Tyrell Sutton had 16 carries for 72 yards and a score. Rob Branchflower had 7 receptions for 65 yards and a score. Jasper Collins 201 kick return yards including a 70 yarder and no touchdowns in the win as the Mammoths improved to 4-2.

A.J. McCarron completed 13 of 22 passes for 189 yards and a score, with an interception and sacked once to lead Portland. Wendell Smallwood ran 15 times for 20 yards and a score. Paul James had 44 yards on 6 carries. Allen Hurns had a 73 yard touchdown reception as the Pioneers fall to 2-4 on the year.

Memphis, Tenn;  Ricky Ray threw for 208 yards and 4 touchdowns on 13 of 18 passing to lead the Memphis Knights  ( 2-3 ) to a 34-9 thrashing of the Philadelphia Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at the Liberty Bowl before 28,000.

Cameron Artis -Payne ran 27 times for 96 yards and Austin Collie caught 6 passes for 111 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win for the Knights. Neal Sterling also had a touchdown reception. Bobby McCain led the defense with 10 tackles.


( 2-3 ) Hartford - 46   ( 3-2 ) Oklahoma - 44

Norman, Ok;  Connor Halliday lit it up throwing for 505 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Harford Sentinels ( 2-3 ) outgunned the Oklahoma Roughnecks 46-44 before 26,000 fans at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium Sunday.

Devonte Freeman ran 9 times for 40 yards and a score. Aaron Green also had a rushing touchdown. Antwan Goodley had 7 catches for 175 yards including a 42 yard touchdown reception. Duron Carter had 3 catches for 109 yards including a 79 yard touchdown reception. Jacob Peterson also had a touchdown reception in the win. Kenneth Ackerman led the defense with 8 tackles and one interception.

Matt Johnson completed 24 of 36 passes for 297 yards and 4 touchdowns with 2 interceptions and sacked 4 times.  Rajon Neal ran 12 times for 85 yards, plus a touchdown reception.  Josh Harper caught 5 passes for 114 yards and a score. Chandler Jones caught 9 passes for 107 yards and a score. Manny Asprilla led the Roughnecks defense with 11 tackles and 2 passes defended.

Dallas, Tx ;  Mike Reilly threw for 397 yards and 3 touchdowns on 30 of 56 passes as the Dallas Outlaws defeated the Pittsburgh Forge 31-14. He was sacked 3 times.

Lennon Creer ran for 52 yards and a score. Creer also 6 catches for 61 yards and a score. Jasper Collins had 8 receptions for 162 yards including a 63 yard touchdown reception . Wes Saxton also had a touchdown reception.

Alex Carder completed 27 of 50 passes for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception and sacked 4 times to lead the Forge. Jordan Williams had 7 receptions for 65 yards and a score. Luke Wilson also had a touchdown reception in the loss for the Forge who fall to 3-2.

Glendale, Ariz;  Chad Owens had 8 receptions for 172 yards and a score as the Washington Wave  ( 3-1 ) won their third straight with a 30-16 win over the Arizona Scorpions.

Mike Bercovici completed 21 of 38 passes for  321 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 sacks. Chris Hairston ran 9 times for 61 yards, plus a touchdown reception.  Tommy Taggart scored twice while rushing for 46 yards on 15 carries in the win.

Travis Lulay threw for 195 yards and a score with one interception and sacked 3 times. Tommy Shuler had 7 receptions for 84 yards. Alex Erickson had a touchdown reception as the Scorpions fall to 1-4.

Sacramento, Calif;  Bo Levi Mitchell completed 28 of 50 passes for 354 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Louisville Thoroughbreds remained unbeaten with a 38- 24 victory over the Sacramento Crusaders  ( 1-4).

Orlando, Fla;  Tim Tebow threw for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Orlando Vipers crush the New York Emporers 34-6 Saturday afternoon at Brighthouse Networks Stadium. Tebow was sacked once with no interceptions. He also ran for 31 yards on 12 carries.

Former University of Arkansas running back Alex Collins ran for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns. Isaiah Burse caught 4 passes for 80 yards and a score. Ryan Otten also had a touchdown reception in the win as the Vipers improved to 2-3 with the win.

Johnny Manziel threw for 212 yards with 2 interceptions and sacked twice. He also ran 12 times for 33 yards as the Emporers fall to 3-2.

(3-2 ) Michigan - 45    ( 2-3 ) Houston - 21

Detroit, Mi;  Cody Kessler continues to shine and is quickly becoming one of the brightest stars in the A.F.F.A.  Kessler completed 16 of 17 passes for 348 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Michigan Panthers rolled over the Houston Wranglers 45-21 before 31,000 at Ford Field Saturday.

Malcolm Agnes ran 12 times for 73 yards and a score.  Albert Wilson had 4 catches for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns. Pharoh Cooper had 3 catches for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joseph Fauria chipped in with 67 yards and a score on 4 catches for the Panthers  ( 3-2 ).

Wranglers quarterback Vince Young completed 11 of 20 passes for 106 yards and a score. He was sacked twice. Young also ran 6 times for 33 yards.  Kapri Bibbs ran 9 times for 32 yards and a score. Jean Sifrin had 4 receptions for 51 yards and a score. Jamison Crowder also added a touchdown reception as the Wranglers drop to 2-3 on the year.  Brandon Allen came in late completing 6 of 12 passes for 61 yards and a touchdown and sacked once.

Miami, Fla;  Trevor Harris threw for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns while completing 12 of 17 passes as the Birmingham Predators defeated the Miami Sharks 30-16 before 27,300 at FIU stadium Saturday.

Rasheed Williams ran for 82 yards and a score on 21 carries.  Casey Pierce caught 5 passes for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns including a 68 yard touchdown reception. Paul McRoberts had 4 catches for 58 yards and a score in the win.

Zach Collaros completed 21 of 40 passes for 358 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception and sacked twice for the Sharks who lost their second straight game to fall to 3-2. Running back David Cobb ran for 54 yards on 19 carries.  Nick Toon caught 8 passes for 106 yards. Jeff Heuerman had 5 catches for 85 yards and a score in the loss.

Omaha, Neb;  Anthony Allen ran for two scores as the Denver Miners  ( 3-2 ) pounded the home standing Omaha Bulls 32-12 before 26,000+ at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium Saturday.

Vad Lee completed 18 of 33 passes for 228 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception and sacked once. Anthony Allen finished rushing for 65 yards on 22 carries. Kasen Williams had a touchdown reception.

Rakeem Cato threw for 168 yards on 15 of 28 passes and was sacked 5 times. Alfred Blue ran for 44 yards and a score on 11 carries as the Bulls fall to 2-3.

STAGS TOP NIGHTMARE 46-30!

Chicago, Illinois;  Brandon Doughty completed 21 of 26 passes for 394 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Chicago Stags ( 3-2 ) defeated the New Orleans Nightmare 46-30 before 28,000 + at Soldier Field Friday night.

The Stags ground game as well as their air attack was firing on all cylinders, as the Stags rolled up 255 yards rushing. Marcus Murphy rolled to 143 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 carries. Alonzo Harris powered to 105 yards and 2 touchdowns .

Willie Snead had a career game catching 9 passes for 196 yards, including a 79 yard touchdown reception. Gator Hoskins also had a touchdown reception in the win.

Colby Cameron led the Nightmare attack completing 28 of 40 passes for 351 yards and 4 touchdowns with one interception and sacked twice. Cody Hoffman, Ty Hilton, Brandon Rutledge and Mortiz Boehringer each had a touchdown reception in the loss as the Nightmare fall to 3-2.

" We played well tonight. Brandon  ( Doughty) commanded the game well and made some good throws. Our offensive line did a great job controlling the line of scrimmage and opening holes for Marcus and Alonzo. Marcus  ( Murphy  ) has really stepped up in filling in for Alfred  ( Morris). He works hard and it shows in his play the last couple of weeks. " said Stags head coach Ted Cottrell following the game.

Championship Trophy Renamed!

The Associated Football Franchises of America owners voted unanimously to change the Championship Trophy name from " Patriots Cup " to " Pantheon Cup ".

The name change comes along with the league's name change due to copyright issues. The A.F.F.A name as well as the Trophy name were taken from Oliver Stone's feature film Any Given Sunday. Two teams, the New York Emporers and the Miami Sharks were also taken from the movie which was a big influence in starting the league in the first place.

" It was only fitting!" said one league owner about the change.
